Isn’t more a Kosoto gake rather? I think of sukui nage more of a leg grab whether it’s done with one or two hands... but I can be wrong for sure

I agree. Sukuinage is a te waza and not allowed in Shiai currently. This throw is a KoSoteGake

Healthy discussion is good 😊 The elbow used in lieu of the hand on the leg. It has a scoop action that gives me the sukuinage name. (Similar exactly to old style leg grab throw with exactly the same trajectory and direction)

It’s hard to see from that angle but I trust you 🤪 it’s just hard to call a throw sometimes but it’s definitely of great help to understand the right names and terminology in Japanese those throw names make a lot of sens and helped me learned judo and throwing mechanics
