Another great spoken word video from Suli Breaks. Every video is inspirational and this is one I think all teachers should watch. I AM a millennial and I understood each of his references, but even I feel out of touch with my students that are growing up today. The world is changing and that's a good thing. However, we must remember to take the time to think about those changes and connect with the last generation and the next.

I went to an alternative college for social change with six campuses around the world. That was twenty years ago. We new we would be here in the situation now if people didn't see what we were saying then. We knew what you know now. We were ahead of our time. I've lived a frustrated life trying to get people to understand. Don't quit. Please.

Im glad someone like you is consistently showing not just KZfaq but the world that the upcoming generation is not so clueless. But that we are just trying to do our part to progress in the world even though its not the "traditional" way. Watched this via Ted and felt every word of this piece! The first ever video I watched by you was 6 years ago about why you love school but hate education, and I have seen some of your videos over the years, but while I was watching this one, I realised some of the things you said, the issues you raised, the concepts you're talking about is what I've spoken about in my poetry. As soon as you said ’remember who raised it [this generation]’, I quickly exited and messaged my friend to tell her that I legit said these words in one of my pieces and then went right back to the video! And idk if someone else has written that exact line, but I'm just so amazed that we’re both thinking the same way about these issues! #mgm #teammillenial

Man I wish my parents got this message when I was in school. There was so much I wanted to do and say but never could because it wasn't "right" and I would be considered stupid. Keep it up man, you're the best!

I love this. So many adults say that I'm anti-social or look down on my friends cause they are loud and debate a lot. Just because we don't act like they did when we were longer, means they think there's something wrong with us.

Brilliant, we currently live in a world where the last generation & the one before it refuse to give chances to the new generation, instead of embracing the future & the potential, they reject us. I just hope when the new & next generations have more power in the world, they embrace the future & potential of the next group, like we do with technology.

sulibreezy The world is changing everyday but the leaders of the world aren't, the ideals of older generations are forced upon children without even realizing it by parents who want "the best for their kids" so they send them to universities to get "educated" when really all they needed was to be asked "What do you really want to do with your life?". I'm in university for engineering right now and everyday I wonder if I made the right choice but as I go further into my degree I realize how much the people in my life influenced my decision to come here with promises of glory in a "good degree" and "opportunity" so much that I wonder if it was really my decision at all. I believe that if you want to do something then you should just do it and we live in a world right now where that's possible. As time keeps moving forward your message will be heard by more and more people because as we as a generation get older, our message spreads wider. We have to remember that in 20 years, we will be the parents of our children teaching them and we have to decide if we want to live the same life as our parents and theirs before that or accept that we do not live in the same world and adapt to it like the humans we are. Thanks for your words man, it's great to hear them and keep going because I know I'm not alone!

The opinions you deliver in your lectures are actually quite easy to arrive at, require very little study or research, have very little to do with the art of poetry or literature--it's just you, standing there, attempting to lob bombs but instead drop water balloons--rubber language that bounces against the brick wall of the mind, soaks the skin for a merest instant, and evaporates as quickly as wrung mop water.
