Day Tour of the municipalities of Talipao, Panamao, Luuk, Maimbung and Patikul.
Today, our first stop is the Masjid Raya in Talipao where they also have a school in the compound. Jolo island has many beach and seaside towns, Bulangsi Beach in Brgy. Bulangsi is a quiet seaside town abounding with tall coconut trees.
Tanduh Batu in Luuk has a port and the beach is impressively clean. The roads in Jolo island are well paved concrete roads, only a small portion remains unpaved.
At Mt. Lubakan is the Sucuban Rest Place, a scenic viewpoint in Luuk. There is a heart shaped lake, Siet Lake in Panamao.
One can visit the Astana Darul Jambangan in Mt. Bayug, Talipao. It showcases the Royal House. In the municipality of Maimbung, there is the Ipil Mangrove Sancturary.
Another viewdeck is the Bud Agad Resort. Kahawa Sug (Sulu Coffee) can be bought at a coop in Patikul. By the coastline of Patikul is the Imbi Theya Resort. Many locals enjoy the place. And from the resort, one can view Mt. Tumatangis.
As the day draws to a close, we headed to Mauboh to watch the sunset.
There is not enough time for me to discover more of my father's hometown. It is a heartwarming homecoming for me and my mother, to walk upon it's street again.
