Yume no Tsuribashi Bridge (Dream Suspension Bridge) or “The Bridge of Dreams”
“Make a wish while suspended over dream-like crystal-blue water.” Deep in Shizuoka’s Southern Alps mountain range, Sumatakyo is full of crystal-blue water, deep ravines, swinging rope bridges and rejuvenating onsen (hot springs). Yet, besides the feeling that you’re entering a hidden natural wonder, one of the best parts of Sumatakyo is how you travel there.
Most of you would travel Japan to see the beautiful sceneries, but what if the weather didn’t go as planned? Let me show you Sumatakyo Valley when it’s rainy and sunny. Yes, I waited from 5AM to 9AM to see how beautiful it is regardless of the weather. Sumatakyo is one of the places where I’d fetch water to drink. Most of you might have seen this place with crystal blue water. But, sometimes it’s green, sometimes it’s white and when it’s rainy, it’s muddy. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful place.
Please be careful if ever you’d visit by car. Also, Shizuoka City has an amazing tourism office which can assist you. I’d recommend this place to visit with caution.
