Here is how you can make marbled art prints on paper using Suminasgashi,
Japanese marbling techniques using water based inks on paper. Enjoy!

This is a great tutorial. I have ordered the same kit and have a workshop for 15. Do we have to use the dots? I would rather avoid ordering 15 kits just for the dots. Does the ink sit on the water by itself. I currently use scola marbing ink, but the colours appear faded. Thank you

Hi Suzanne! Best of luck with your workshops! I reuse the dots. They are helpful and allow the ink to float rather than sink, which can happen.

Is it okay to use a normal bond paper?

Hi Chelsea, I have Neve tried it with bond paper. I would think that the surface treatment of the paper might effect the print- but if I did use bond- I would go for the 90 lb. Have you tried it yet?

SO IS WATERCOLOR PAPER TOO HEAVY?

Hi Tracy! I just saw this...I only recommend watercolor paper with a smooth finish. Also it can be a bit too heavy in my opinion. I recommend something like this amzn.to/37Ieiwj in the 65 lb-80 lb. range

Hilary L Hahn that there was no soapy water applied between the color. I understand that it is art and everyone has their own way of making it and interpreting it and that is ok. As far as the piece it’s self it is very nice. It’s just the satisfaction of watching the soap move the color that is missing for me and that makes it frustrating to watch.

@@juliereis146 Hi Julie! Just saw this, I use soapy water sometimes, but what I found was that the soap can create larger gaps between colors and that was something I wanted to avoid in the video. It's fun to experiment and explore!
