Interesting!! I'm burning some time today and I think I'll take a closer look at your products in the next few minutes. I use the Raptor tools that Craft Supplies sells, along with the full Wolverine setup. Always like to support woodturners and woodturner tools out there, so I'll give them a try. Expect to hear from me soon. Thanks for what you do for the woodturning community Ron.

I have a nova comet II sharpening system. It's has a 6 inch wheel.. Will your system work with that? I know your's is normally for 8 inch wheels..

Most of these are designed for 8" wheels. However, The Universal Setting Jig will work with 6" or 8" wheels. I have a 6" version of both the Quad and the regular 2-piece gouge setting blocks. The New 40 40 is calibrated only for 8" wheels. They are available at www.ronbrownsbest.com

I have less than 2 inches of chisel protruding out of the Vari grind how can I set it up properly

Paul: Two points here - 1) When my gouges get short, I grind a flat on top of the HSS shaft beyond the flute so the VariGrind fixture has a place to clamp onto. That allows me to gain the 2" projection I need to get much more life out of my tools. 2) The universal is designed to duplicate a grind you love. If you are able to accomplish a working grind with less than 2" of stick out, first set up the grind manually, then place the Universal Setting Jig in the pocket and take those readings. Read the linear scale and the leg position. You will be able to return to those settings. Understand that all HSS tools are consumable and eventually you will need to replace them. That is why it is important to remove as little steel each time you resharpen your tools. They will last much longer the less steel you have to grind away. Ron

@@Ronbrownsbest Thankyou for your very swift reply. I have just started out on wood turning and received this set of chisels free with the lathe. They aren’t very long at all. However what an absolute difference from hand sharpening to using this fantastic tool with sharpening aids. Again thanks for replying so swiftly.

Good video. Will this work with the Vari-Grind 2 Jig???

Some will; Quad, Universal, Angle Gauge, Negative Rake Scraper 3N1. I don't know for the 40/40 and the regular 1-2 setup blocks. I don't have a Varigrind 2 so I can't test them. Ron
