Summer you are very correct. I was in that church that same time. That particular branch was situated five junction, around Iheya on your way to Uniben. We had some of committed PCF leaders then.. bro Garventa, sis Eunice, the twins in the choir etc. Pastor Tom Amenkhienan was at the Airport Road then being the HEADQUATERS.

Well, mine is diff, ever since I joined Christ embassy, d teachings of pastor Chris is exceptional n awakening. I love him but I do not idolize him. For d idolizing issue pastor Chris has never asked anyone to idolize him. Its a personal tin n dis issue of idolizing exist in so many big churches now. N in sowing of seeds its ur choice, I have never bin forced, my giving is btw myself n God. Member's might have issues but ur relationship with God is all that matters.

You are down to earth not “local” like said. I enjoy the song that you sang in Igbo language & your emphases on the church in village that did everything in local Languages. I remember as a young boy spending Christmas in my village & going to church Where everything is said in Igbo language it was an awesome experience. Thanks again. Sammy.

Quite interesting! Thanks for sharing, Summer!! Oh memories..... I recall attending evening fellowship at the family residence very early on!! going for camp meeting at Ekpoma, etc, attending services at the Airport Rd branch, CE at UNIBEN, etc. I have since moved on. After all these years, my take is your relationship with Christ and you belief in God is personal to you. It's not so much the group, building, church you belong to but your own personal relationship. At the end of the day, everyone will be accountable. Best wishes.

Fellowers of pastor Chris do not idolise him but respect the Holy Spirit in him. It was through his teachings I repented after watching atmosphere for miracle on television the church address in aba was written on the screen I went there the following Sunday believing that I will see pastor Chris life but I met the residence pastor archie aseme his teachings and pst Chris is the same thing I had nothing to loose later I was told that pst Chris is in lagos then I joined usher, music department, I started confessing positive in every word I say and things I do my life started changing for good. I know pastor Ngy even before they married, pastor okwudiri was assisting pastor archie then in 106 aba owerri rd. I started building my faith by the teachings could gain admission in abia poly, did my IT in the bank what I declare must happen my faith grew I preach christ in my house, public places, buses, in campus. I didn't meet pastor Chris for one day but only listen to his teachings on tape and other avenues. I met pastor Chris for the first time in my life as an usher when we hosted atmosphere for miracle in aba abia state. I am in Europe today because of the foundation I received about God's word from pst Chris and pastor archie our residence pastor from christ Embassy. If not for the tithe you pay and being a partner to propagate the gospel of christ jesus on television books and other medium I wouldn't have been saved. Many more has been saved through your tithes and offering and it is in record in heaven am not saying it is a prerequisite to make heaven. Being born again is the way to heaven accepting christ jesus as your only saviour.

I completely understand this. I also left Christ Embassy about that time too, precisely 19yrs ago. I joined a branch in the north through NYSC mobilisation. I joined the choir too and rose through the "ranks to become a PCF leader'. We practically idolized Pastor Chris. We don't even call him Pastor, it's Rev Chris..you can call your local pastor a 'pastor' and Pastor Chris, just pastor. We left for Atmosphere For Miracle, made to provide for our transport, hotel, uniforms, special seeds, offerings, messages band tapes. ALL tapes and messages must be bought, even if you can't afford it. The pressure was just too much. We were meant to augment offerings from our members if it wasn't enough. Contribute for Pastor's Birthdays.. usually a car every time. Building projects usually saps our little income. There was Super Sundays, Dollar Sunday, First fruit services. Infact, most of us sold our properties we owned then and were made redeem them with cash. I even finished the Ministerial School then in Abuja, that was 2004. Pastor Chris's father was alive then and took us in Eschatology. Even my local pastor was practically idolized. All CEC members were idolized. Healing School, LMM, LMC, ROR was a huge burden cos of bills to clear, and among PCF leaders it was a huge competition. Everything was monitized. I had experiences that are not pleasant at all. I was a core member, so it's verified. Even when I had the opportunity to meet Rev Tom, as we call him, it was as if you are meeting God. The pastors are just God of men not Men of God. Thank God, am out too.

I don’t normally comment on your post. I attended Christ Embassy in London for over a year and left because of ever demanding for money. At that time they had 7 partnerships and the expected membership join one or two and must be actively financially contributing monthly. During pastor Chris and his wife, members are forced to contribute, they tagged if ‘offering 7. They have cell groups, where services are held in a rented halls and members are paying rents for these gatherings as well as expected to offerings during this service. I agreed members idolised Pastor Chris and their pastors, they cannot give testimony without reference to pastor Chris. You are doing a great work, keep talking and if you manage to safe one person from pastor worship, you have saved a nation.

Lilian Franklin pray for God to open the eyes of your heart so you can see how gullible you are. Most Pentecostal churches are run by cleaver business men and women, where members of the church are encouraged to evangelise to get more people and expected to buy the material distributed during when evangelising. When your new recruits become a member and started paying tithes and offering. Who gets it?.. The churches of today are where members are shareholders without sharing profits.

Just going to touch on a few aspects. singing: CE sings in English simply because it is imperative everyone understands what is being sang so we done ignorantly confess something that is not online with the word of God. Men of God: some people do idolise their men of God. That is what the INDIVIDUAL member does NOT pastor asking them to. Sometimes it’s due to the impact they had in those people’s life through the word of God. They are showing gratitude just like a child will ‘idolised’ their parents. Only very few go too far but you will have that everywhere in different ramifications. Money: it is the LOVE of money that is the route of evil. Money however is important, even in the gospel. During the time of Jesus Christ the disciples had a treasurer in Judas, his LOVE of money caused him his life. However, money was imperative during Jesus’ time as well as it enables them to do what they needed doing to spread the gospel. In CE nobody is forced to give anything, you are prompted to exercise your faith in giving as to help promote the gospels but you are free to do or leave it. It is only a few pastors that can execute this task a bit forcefully. There’s much more to comment on your video but that’s for another day. God bless you Overall it’s a

Jesus said...He will build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Know where you belong. A child of God must be willing to be guided, instructed, and corrected by the word. Hold God's word above every other word. You must know when you have erred and turn from wrong ways to follow the undiluted word of God. No one should be projected as infallible, only God is. Those who are true followers of Jesus will hear his voice. One thing I know.....the word of God is prevailing. #Truthrevolution

I have been a pianist in different churches and I can tell: In many of these big churches love is dead!!! Some members would rather give a big tithe to their pastor to be known by them than to help a brother who is struggling! Fearing the pastor more than God Himself! They will wage spiritual warfare on you, fighting you to death when they notice you know the truth! Imagine Jesus fighting his own body! These prosperity teachings have gone too far...! My spirituality is not defined by how much money I have but buy how much love I have towards my fellow brother! "By this all will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another" Jn13,35.

You have such a beautiful voice ma’am. FYI, the strategy for Christ embassy may have been to take the Gospel to the seats of commerce and commercial hubs in all regions. This ensures the Gospel spreads more easily through trade and transport back and forth from the epicenters of influence into the villages. Some churches operate this way. Also I am very uncomfortable with the idolization of Pastor Chris. It is one of the pitfalls especially in mega churches where a super charismatic preacher holds so much influence over the congregation. It is borderline cult like. I am happy you saw it for what it was and grew past it. Thank you for your videos.

which church do you attend? tell people to leave a church without telling them where to go is very dangerous. if people have to follow you, but most of your video is just you posting different types of video but those videos don't talk about God or salvation or heaven... who are you? what are you trying to achieve? do you wanna get more subscribers on youtube so you can now start making your own money? one thing I like about you is you are beautiful and you look youthful but you sound like you still searching yourself spiritually, I was so desperate to hear what you gonna say...but it looks like you seriously need to search your heart so that you can be sure of what you want out of all this. Don't become a preacher just because you were offended or disappointed or hurt? become a preacher for a good reason otherwise, you may become even worse than those you are criticizing. don't get me wrong I am not saying believe everything you are told or believe everything you see; the point I am trying to make is before you help others, make sure sure you yourself are in good shape if not you and those you are trying to help will drown together. and will one day hold you accountable for lost souls. this is just free advice because I couldn't reconcile anything out of what you were saying. some of the musicians of that church sing in pidgin English and sing traditional songs, people like Frank Edward, Buchi, Eben, Tb1... and many more and I realize you and many more went to that church for wrong motives(wearing pant, follow the look and the accent of the pastor) and now you wanna blame it on that pastor, why don't you blame it on yourself? and another point you say they were only preaching in a suburb area, not in villages when you start a church you have to start from where you are and expand, right now their churches are even in villages..about the money, I have never seen our African people criticizing catholic church for having school everywhere and the pope as the head of that church after all paul the apostle had churches in many cities(Corinth, Ephesus, Rome,...etc), I personally had studied to one off the most expansive schools at some point I could see the sacrifice that my parent was making, see no black man has ever complained about white people but if you see another black man doing the same thing, you will criticize him to the bone. I have seen and read some of the philanthropic actions that church does(inner city, university renovation, send a rescue relief team during disaster ..etc)..when we watch soccer,we see coca-cola and other big companies sponsoring those big games now if you have a vision of spreading your ministry across the globe, it is only making sense that Christians that believe in your vision should sponsor it. I have seen that the pastor of that church has written a lot of books does he has the right to enjoy that money? if not why? but you don't have a problem seeing doctors and lawyers becoming rich. have you ever read about king David, Solomon, job, king soul(paul), joseph, Isaac,jacob...and so many more were very rich, now if we wanna follow your admonition it means all those people are in hell right now? sister, I am not recommending pastor Chris to you in any way but I want you to do what you are doing with the right motive.

Summer I enjoyed this and sincerely this is why I left pentecostal churches. I read my Bible and meditate. Some even brought the child abuse into the church. I told them safeguarding child act is their for a reason. And it brought about change in my church. I made them understand I’m a health worker and I will report it if they do that again. Up till today no one touch any bodies child their.

In my opinion, this is an excellent video. It is God that revealed (opened your eyes). This is the longest KZfaq video I have ever watched to the very end. This is why I love christianity; salvation is personal, on that day it will be a one on one thing. Your pastor will not open the gate of heaven for you to enter. Get your Bible read it from A to Z and ask God for understanding, God will definitely give you the understanding if you ask.

Apologies for me typing so many comments but I'm also writing while watching. People are proud to be part of an association that's doing positive works in the community. Just like someone would be proud to say they are a member of a the freemasons. Even the bible is somewhat a fairytale, there are scriptures that the story of Abraham is an alligory. I do agree that they should preach on contentment.

You have a beautiful voice, Summer 💕 I don't understand the words but could listen to your singing all day. I also agree with the idolatry. Many are brainwashed to be robotic Christians😔😭
