Bank fishing was fun when I was a kid, 70's and 80's... looking for that one remote spot, dredging the woods to grandmothers house we go. Today, you won't see me doing that anymore. I'm too old and out of shape. Bass boat is the way to go 😊. But never forget where you came from and how far you've made it. I am a very blessed man. Love your videos. Drop shot is a good time sometimes. I use that rig in a place I go where the weeds are kinda thick. The bait wiggles right above the weeds, works nicely

I live almost on the bank of one of the largest lakes in Central Texas, Buchanan Lake. In fact, I retired here just to be close to somewhere I could fish every day. We've been just devastated by drought this year and some of our lakes are as low as 40% capacity. To say fishing has been impacted is an understatement. Hurricane Beryl did like most tropical systems do when they hit the Texas coast, they flood Houston and that area, then take a hard swing east. Not a drop of rain from that system in Central Texas. Unfortunately, I've just given up on it until we get some productive rain. Hopefully we can get it without catching up all at once and flooding everyone out.

You don’t seem to break off as much in the Kayak my Friend and it definitely makes the Drop Shot more Fun to use. I went though packs of Yum dingers using that Rig and had a lot of Fun even breaking off a dozen times.

I’m really liking that drop shot since I’ve started using it more this season. I use it primarily with a Roboworm and also the Berkley flat worm. My setup is the Daiwa revos with a 6’6” Dobyns drop shot rod. Super sensitive!

So with this technique it really matters having a more sensitive set up, at least as sensitive as you can afford. I have the 6’10 ml Expride and a Vanford. I can feel EVERYTHING, every single nibble…the fish could breathe on it and I will know there is a fish. Try it out Debo.

Those rebarb hooks are awesome. I use those with zoom zdrop and zoom finesse trick worms. I might pick me up some of those baits you were using. They looked good. I have several of those rods and I like them. 👊👍

Nice to see you drop shotting out of the kayak. It's a much easier technique to use when in a kayak or boat IMO. As for the rod the Aird-X is a great rod and for the price it's one of the best budget rods on the market. Me and my brother have a few casting and spinning versions of the Aird-X. Another great video.

My guy be YAKKIN and DROPPIN SHOTS! I think that smallie smasher is great and theyve got amazing colors, but I prefer something just a tiny bit bigger. The Berkley flatworm is /perfect/ in the 4.25in, and boy does it get bit by everything. They get torn up quick though! Good trip out there dude, keep killin it!

The drop shot master! Yes, I enjoy the mixture of yak & bank fishing (selfishly as a yak & bank angler also). Might not be a popular idea, but try out a Carolina rig for a video. I’m tossing one tomorrow morning, haven’t since the late 90s 😂

Great video. Now I really want a kayak. The part of kayak fishing I’m interested in is all the casting angles and if its better to go with shorter faster rods or if the 7’ - 7’3” still work just as well? Drop shot is a love - hate relationship from the bank. Constantly having to play with the weight size to hold bottom but not get snagged or sink to far into the mud. But it does catch fish year round. …. For hooks I’ve been really liking the Hayabusa FPP straight worm hooks for finesse techniques. Hayabusa and Ryugi have slowly become my go to hooks.

Shorter rods definitely help on a kayak, esp if you're not a tall guy. Specifically for things like walking a topwater or a frog. Get a kayak, you won't regret it!
