its tough fishing in Portugal as the bass are not always around. A good fishermen i know just got back after hitting all best spots and got a couple of schoolies, because simply no bass about. He did hook a good one that snapped the line on the rocks, its very hit or miss in Portugal. Im thinking of a trip to Ireland, is June too early?

Im not in Portugal, just visit a couple of times a year. The fishing is very on and off. All the spots on the west coast are good potential spots, you just need the right conditions, waves but hopefully not too big! Check the forecast and head up the west coast on smaller days!

Thanks, the ankle is going well! The Expanse is 15-60g and ideal fro the UK fishing. Personally I like 12ft rods not only for casting but the reach you have and angles you can get with a longer rod, The Expanse is certainly not overkill! The whole coastline is good potential bass fishing. It all depends on if the bass are about. Unfortunately the fishing is not like it used to be with long quiet periods with not many fish around. Best time to avoid is July and August although sometimes its ok

On the Expanse I would say the 50g Enticer minnow in wavey conditions when you want max distance is a bullet! Work it between the surface and just inches below splashing! The Shad is excellent worked sub surface . I work it just below the surface over rocky ground. The stealth Glide is an excellent slow sink lure which you can use on a very slow retrieve at night, can also use faster in the day. Bomb casts like a bullet the 30g would be suitable. 21g in smaller conditions! Tweak baits are also very good sub. Contact me if you need more help 👍

high and low, it depends on the spot. For me all tides can be could it depends on other things like size of swell water colour and location
