Summer Evening Spotting High Speed Trains at Boxley Tunnel, HS1 - 03/07/19

4 жыл бұрынVideo: A summer evening spotting high speed at Boxley Tunnel on High Speed 1, featuring the usual Eurostar and Southeastern high speed action with the surprise of a HS1 freight move from Dollands Moor to Ripple Lane during sunset.
As it was the peak of summer when originally filmed, the lineside was overgrown in certain areas, thus limiting where I could set up the tripod and film. So I changed it up a bit and filmed at various locations such as atop the Boarley Lane bridge, then later as the traffic got more frequent, at the opposite side by the tunnel mouth, which gave for some great sound as trains approached from afar and pass through at speed.
TRAINS INCLUDED:
Eurostar Class 373 TGV TMST e300s & Class 374 Velaro e320s, Southeastern Class 395 Javelins and GBRf Class 92 with HS1 freight.

Love this video, I love high-speed trains! Like also the pretty short freight train :) For your next spot in the HS1/SEML, can you go to Ashford or Westenhanger one more time? And for your next international spot, can you film the London St Pancras to Amsterdam Centraal service?

Thanks, I’m hoping to visit Ashford Intl as soon as Eurostar begin the winter Bourg St Maurice service. I’m not sure when I’ll do Westenhanger again. As for the Amsterdam Centraal ride, I need time to plan that as one ride will be the e320 and other a Thalys TGV to/from Brussels.

Now we need these length trains running on East Midlands trains.. cross country and Avanti/virgin trains west coast.. Preferably at a similar speeds but yeah good luck with that on our old over crowded network. Hs2 needs to be built but with better planning.. it’s a scam how it’s been done thus far tbh. Day we see these length trains running from London to Glasgow/ Edinburgh on the west coast main line and East Midlands is the day our net work improves.. but hey ho..

What happens in Netherlands is the Intercity Direct services (limited to 160 km/h) goes into high-speed lines :) And freight trains from/to Dollands Moor takes the high-speed line until Ashford International, I think.

In Germany that happens like all the time - there where even complaints about that on the new Munich - Berlin in less than 4 hours line (VDE 8) Freighters cannot operate without a pusher locomotive

S D In the United States, you have lots of long freight trains, but people prefer using planes rather than trains for traveling in the United States, due to the size of this country. That's why trains aren't refurbished, etc, and that's why there isn't any high-speed lines in the USA.
