Summer in Lithuania is the most wonderful time of the year here in my personal opinion. It feels like you have really earned something after the long cold winter! Here's what I've been up to in August while I enjoy the beautiful Lithuanian summer weather!

Just a suggestion. Try to get some locals to take you to the woods to pick wild berries and go forest mushroom hunting, and cook that and taste it. You and your viewers will have a blast.

I live in Lithuania, Kaunas not soo far from kauno Marios i don't need a bus to go there because it too close near my home and Nemunas river even too close so yeah I love Lithuania's summer and winter with spring.... Greetings from Lithuania

What a beautiful place to spend the summer! I can't believe it's taken me so long to go there, it's so close to Utena and so beautiful! I'll definitely be back.

@@laura-bronner It is really beautiful, peaceful and calm. I am greatful to my family that they chose to live there for many generations. from today I am back to Vilnius. So many events to see and participate. Dont want to miss it. Highly recomend to vist Vilnius this weekend

Most terrible time of the year :D Heat, endless sun, everything is buzzing with life, overwhelming me and not allowing to chill 😁 And the heatwave here in Lithuania. I'm happy it ends tomorrow. Yet don't listen to my gothic heart, I'm a rarity. Normal people adore summer. P.S. I like our remote meadows and fields, though. Silence, wind and buzzing of the bees are good in summer.

haha I must admit, this heat and humidity is a bit too much for me as well - my apartment is SO hot so it's hard to get much work done, but perfect weather for swimming in the lakes and relaxing! Looking forward to cooler temperatures this week!

haha yes, I don't think there are many places in Lithuania that get particularly crowded when compared to popular places in summer time say in the US or Mexico. I grew up going to the beaches in New Jersey and Long Island and you were lucky to be able to see the ocean on a busy Sunday from where you put your towel there were that many people! It never gets like that here.

usually, if you can see the lake - you can swim in it. no people around is a bonus :) and every bush is your changing booth

I decided to buy tickets a few weeks ago - I'll be in Vilnius for a week in May, ir aš kalbu šiek tiek lietuviškai 👍 That would be fun to meet up and grab a drink if y'all are still there!

I love Pažaislio Vienuolynas park, my favourite part to take my dog for a walk (the greener hill is an official puppy beach). The one with paid parking lot is the official beach. Thing is, Kauno marios is quite polluted and green moss has been floating in there since May. We call it water "blooming" - "vanduo žydi". This might be a reason why so few people are actually in a water. Main place to go would be Lampėdžių karjeras (both sides) if there is no chance to travel somewhere different, to Utena for example

I worked in Kauno Marios Regional Park for 6 months, you should go to Dubravos swamp, which is my favourite place in the park. Don't hesitate to have a stop a the small visitor center in Vaišvydava, you can learn about the reservoir and history of the region ;)

depends on a season. September is an extention of summer really. Late October - November most miserable month. Thankfully, from November 25 onwards all towns are decorated for Christmas, so I actually prefer the dark over the sunlight. Helps if we have snow by December. Festive lights on a dirt are still miserable, you see.

Nice to see you again in your new video 😄 , haven't seen your channel videos for a long time. It's great to see that you was enjoying it a wonderful and very hot summer in my home country , i was in Lithuania last month for two weeks and it was so great to be there with my loved ones , spend 6 days by the sea in Šventoji and Latvia , Liepoja 😄 can't wait to see more of your new videos around Lithuania during autumn season , especially can't wait to see your visitng in my hometown Kaunas 😄❤

I think there's few people in the beaches of Kaunas because the river is considered as somewhat polluted. Many people who want to swim within kaunas go to Lampėdžiai instead.

That is a bit of a myth though. The upper side of the river (i.e. the reservoir and the river downstream down until is passes the old town), are actually reasonably clean (as much as a river passing cities can be). After the old town there is a processed sewage outlet which used to be the major pollutant of the river. But it has been upgraded and improved so much over the years that it's not a concern anymore, and all of the river is safe for bathing, up to your tolerance level of natural greenery in the water. That being said, there is another factor already mentioned in another comment - it's when the still water gets green (this does not apply to the river because it's moving water) due to algae blooming. This can happen in any lake, reservoir, pond etc., but it is very prominent in Kauno marios especially at the hottest times. Bathing in such water may irritate the skin, accidentally ingesting it may lead to diarrhoea and it's absolutely unpleasant to be in it in the first place. So nothing major, but bathing is not recommended at those times.

You know I get the lush feeling also. You know I'm from Oklahoma and it's fairly dry here. I just spent a week in New England and when I came back home I was like everything is brown or not really that green.

No one is swimming in Kaunas Reservoir, because the water quality is not very good. Atleast it was like that couple of years ago.

I grew up with people from Lithuania, and Poland and Italy and Croatia, Ireland in Chicago. It would make me a bit nervous living in Lithuania today because of the closeness to Russia which is run by a madman. Think I'd be more comfortable living in Croatia or Monetnegro.

Maybe because they have to get those protecting "CATFISH NETS" up. I heard the nets are like the protective shark nets they place around swimmers to keep the shark's out, the same applies to the lakes in Lithuania, but only they are not protecting you from shark's but CATFISH! I hear the Cats get really big in those lakes and can swallow a child

Much better then in West fenced countries right? ;))) this is freedom. You should go to Russia there's even more nature & freedom. Nobody swims in cuz there's other places.
