That was the last year of the "Longboard". 1968 was a design revolution, with lightweight , shorter, more turneable boards. I was a gremmie and bought a 9'6'' Greg Noll longboard. It was heavily glassed , a classic , and if I collided with the older guys with shortboards, my board would ding them, and mine would be untouched. Guys used to chase me through the shorebreak !

Remember that year well, as my buddies and I spent the summer on Cape Cod, National Seashore. I had my 9'6" 35 lb. Del Cannon. I was jealous of my best buddy's sexy Dewie Weber performer, with the hatchet fin, although he had to replace it more than once.
