I’ll be honest and say I never heard this song from John Prine before, WOW, what a tune. I’m a sucker for sad songs, I Iove this so much I’ve had to KZfaq everything about John Prine, what an amazing songwriter. Lovely lesson Joe, I will strive to get this in my repotoir. 👏👏👏👏

John wrote this to commentate the addiction related passing of the son of his dear friend the mayor of Nashville. John’s video for the song was done with his own son accompanying him on the guitar

Great lesson. But I'm confused. In the intro at 4:45 it seems you are showing 3 bass notes in a row on the Em. Is that right? 6 and 2 pinch, then 4th, then back to 6th with no treble notes in between?
