Oh my gosh sorry Valerie, as a big fan of yours that’s also a dermatologist, i need to give a friendly reminder to stay sun protected ! Sunscreen spf 30 and above and reapply every 2 hours when outside to any exposed skin. Staying in shade / clothing helps too! Your older self will thank you!! Thank you for an amazing video as always !

Bleak House is amazing and the 2005 BBC adaptation is faithful to the book and expertly performed, although any video reenactment cannot due total justice to the nuances of the text. I hope you make it all the way through your list, Valerie, and have a blessed summer.

Great to "see" you again !!! Summer is quickly coming on here as well... I am pushing my way through a long reading slump.... am 3/4 through "The Return Of The Native" by Thomas Hardy, which is funny because I couldn't get past 50 pages of "Tess Of The D'Ubervilles" (I'm sure I spelt that wrong) I am really enjoying "The Return Of The Native" I've heard "Bleak House" is fantastic. I look forward to your thoughts on it.

Great to have you back! This makes me really curious to try Return of the Native! It's a Hardy I haven't gotten to yet, but I've loved all his other works I've read. I'm looking forward to finally getting to Bleak House.

There is a serial email called "Summer of Moby-Dick," which is how I'm going to read MD this summer (Memorial Day -- @Labor Day)! I'm doing the same thing with Dracula from a different subscription.

Bleak House or Moby Dick?! Quite the dilemma. I haven't read BH, so I'd start there. I've read (and loved) MD, but it took me three attempts. I might wait a full year then restart MD. I don't have science to back that up though. As for Conrad, The Secret Agent might be a good palette cleanser before moving on to the deeper Lord Jim.
