Everyone always speaks of ONEPOINTEDNESS, yet in shamata it really is EVERYTHINGPOINTEDNESS without focus. i find this view point more accurate. HE Garchen Rinpoche is such a wonderful teacher. E Ma Ho. and Duchi Che

shamata is selective. single-pointedness means all coarse consciousness such as eye ear etc are shut down and only an exceptional mental awareness emerges when nothing remains to obstruct it.
