The International Aroid Show kicked off last week in Coral Gables, FL at Fairchild Botanic Garden and it was stacked (with plants) and packed (with people). It's been 4 years since I had been back and was impressed with how it's since grown. Here's a little recap and I'll be publishing my keynote in a future video.

@@extremechimpout it is but if the "genes" of the variegation is good i think its a little reasonable. considering also the size and the condition of the all the leaves. personally, i wouldn't buy it. but if i have the extra cash to spend, i would.

It was so nice seeing all the varieties, and some new ones. It would be really nice if you could show the prices on the labels or mention them, would be a great indicator of what we can expect online or in stores. Good job with all those folks around, nice hearing from the dealers too. So looking forward to hearing your keynote presentation ! 🪴🌱💕

Now, I wish I would have gone now. I went to a plant party at Perfect Choice Nursery in Davie, Florida last Friday. I was amazed how much people spend on plants. The person in front of me had a giant box full of rare plants. It had to be over $500.00 worth plants. I stood behind her with my one little Hoya plant.

I have heard that the bottom is starting to drop out on plant prices, but when that guy said he wanted $ 1,500 for that one plant I thought well maybe not. 🍁🍂🍁💚🙃

I need to go to these one day. I always wondered what it took to be a grower, especially in the realm of tropical exotic plants. Is it a self-ran business (private home growing)? Do people breed under a company (like Bailey's)? I'd love to get into breeding more as a hobby than for money (I realized I love constantly working on plants than hoarding them, if that makes sense lol!)

Walmart sells pink Princess for 20$ the days of spending a ton on these are long gone.

No they are not. What you are seeinf at Walmart are washed out mass produced specemin with subpar genetics. High grade and stable variegation still holds value.

Yeah, but what's the quality of the PPP at WM ? I've seen the Costa Farm's PPP for $20 at my local Lowe's. The quality of those plants is abysmal. I wouldn't waste $1 on it.

@@3l3llala13 it’s great. Huge plant and growing with a ton of pink. Pink Princess only come from tissue cultures, so they’re all literally the same plant. What more is there to gain from the plant that’s worth the greater price?

I almost didn’t watch this video,I don’t want to get hooked on house plants again. I don’t take care of them through the summer months I would rather be outside. That being said I do have too many houseplants, survives they must be in order to live with me. 🍁🍂🍁💚🙃

An idea. Summer can you put out a quick video,of when and where you’re going to be at a plant show. That way if we are in the area we can come see you. Thanks. And i agree,that women was very RUDE. Only in Miami.
