Ey up!
Bog trotting at its finest!
A hike and summit wild camp to the top of Great Whernside standing at 704m. It’s Yorkshire’s 6th highest peak. Walking from the beautiful Scar in Nidderdale which is actually ‘Gods own country’! First over Little Whernside at 604m overlooking Scar and Angram reservoirs.
Bogs, wind and rain test my kit especially my sealskinz waterproof socks which I review.
Bluie Dog enjoys the bogs toooooooo much..... idiot!
Get outside!

Have just recently started watching your channel and loving it mate! I live in north east Scotland and have been a hillgoer from a young age,was just up Lochnagar, jewel of the north east (1151 metres) but have not camped for years. Seeing you has got me finking I need to get back at it,your enthusiasm brims over, and live your dog. Midges, who absolutely love me!😬,put me off summer camping and I’ve never camped in winter, but you have turned me onto the idea 🙏. Also spring is great for camping,no midges but decent light. You should visit the East as the mountains are a distinct character as opposed to the West coast which I love, especially the far north west as it’s so wild which I know u’d love also. Anyway thanks for the wee nudge 🙏

Great to see one not all pretty sunsets. That's when the hills are proper in the grey stuff. Funny when all the Yorkshire 't came out as it got gnarly- Over't fence , brilliant. Btw, do you find the abisko 1 flappy when wet. Nearly bought one but someone said they found theirs flappy when wet due to the thicker bottom section being less stretchy so you could not get the upper tight. They look the dogs.

Nice one, love the waterfalls and Bluie's eyes, wow they are intense lol ... only learned this recently but apparently the falls recharge you so to speak with negative ions! I had been to Lumsdale falls in Matlock and felt so much better after spending time there, plus the bottom of Kinder Scout we sat in a pool under a little fall, amazing really how nature can heal you! Can you suggest any shorter walks within say an hour of Leeds please? My daughter is up there and I was hoping to take her out somewhere soon, but I don't think I can walk more than 5k tbh.

I always feel recharged after a dip and some time outdoors. I’m heading out now for one in the rain! Walks... best easy walks are around Swinsty and Fewston reservoirs about 5k each, flat ish and good underfoot. Currently I think they are doing work on Swinsty dam so maybe just try Fewston. Free parking too. I hope this helps.

North end of Pen y Ghent (plover hill) is another nasty bugger or at least it were when I walked it.once were enough though I've been up an down Pen y Ghent more times than I can remember. Got to say that unlike yersen I'm not really a fan of bog trotting I hate wet feet so tend to pussyfoot about and I'll avoid peat at almost all costs. Sadly can't always manage it though.

Boots are very individual and worth trying on. You’ll know when you find the pair from you. I’d try get some goretex ones though. Tent wise you just need something you can carry. If your current tent will work then use it. If it’s too heavy then consider getting a new one. Tents again are quite individual for how you use them and size etc. Just research! One thing I would say is get a tent that pitches all in one then if raining everything stays dry.
