Thanks so much! Yeah, I totally agree - when the folds came undone, the pattern would gap, which was disappointing. I was rushed finishing this one up (who isn't doing last minute cosplays, haha), so I didn't go back and do the flowers on the under part. In retrospect, I would recommend mirroring the pattern on the other side so the flowers connect.

Hiya! For the salt and detergent, I used the exact amount listed on the dye instructions. So follow whichever box you get. As for the fabric length, it really depends on how long yours are (I made mine proportional to my body). Do it lightly first because you can always make it darker. :] I used fabric paint for all of the designs on the skirt and obi. I used acrylic for the beads and other accessories. Hope this helps!

Hey there! Thanks for the lovely comment! If you want to get the gradient effect, I would highly recommend buying the dye that I have in the tutorial. But, you can always try to buy a sleeve with the color or a gradient already done. Whatever is easiest for you! I just wanted to do it from scratch. :]

Hi there! I would recommend using a thin/cheap fabric as a pattern to test the length and shape of the piece. You can try measuring yourself using a bra or swimsuit to make sure it will cover you enough, or however much you are looking to cover. :] Mine was a bit of trial and error. I would recommend cutting the fabric large, first (as you'll need room for seams) and then trimming it if necessary. Hope this helps!

Hi! I would recommend maybe wearing a skin-colored shirt underneath, or something you are comfortable with. Or, if you can find a black halter top, then only your shoulders and arms would be exposed. I know the bra/swim suit technique is a little revealing, I was nervous, too!

Hi! I found the pattern to make the shirt, but I can't figure out how to measure myself and translate those measurements into the pattern. The final result is similar to your white shirt

So I have a few questions I hope you don't mind answering. About the dying how much salt and detergent did you use? And how many inches of fabric did you submerge into the dye to get that result? About painting the designs, what kind of paint did you use? Were they acryllic? I would be so greatful if you can answer these and help me out!
