Adam, thanks for the video, I have been considering your springs for my Alfa Gold fifth wheel. Weighs about 11,500. Fairly heavy. In doing my research I came across a video on youtube from “downsizing makes cents”. The title is “are they taking our home away, totaled”. They have a bent frame on a solitude fifth wheel, and while getting it looked at at texas trailers they point to the sumo spring as the reason. They don’t say if the trailer is massively overloaded or anything like that so we don’t know but it does give me pause. If you have a minute and can look at their video for feedback. The video is about 3 weeks old as of my comment. And they are implicating sumo so might be worth you looking at. Thanks for your time. the assessment starts about 8 minutes in. Guy

Which, if any, Sumo Spring might you suggest for a skoolie? I would think they’d work great on the shorter buses or a step van. But what about the longer buses, like 40’ long? Especially, gas operated buses as opposed to diesel? Or engine type factor into this?

I’m got a 2019 4runner SR5 and I tow our small single axle camper with my family quite a bit in the spring and summer. Based on what I’m hearing you say, the blue would make the most sense. Right now as it sit my weight distribution hitch is nicely dialed in. My question is, would adding the blues change how I’d have to set my wdh? Of course is still want the hitch transferring weight to the front end of the suv and not just sitting on the sumos in the back. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

I have a 2921 Newmar Baystar Motorhome 3609 and, last year, I had Suma Springs installed on the front and back. S 17340-2 SF - 17340-2 on the front and SSR - 18754-1 on the rear. The ride is WAY worse! We’ve had door problems , cabinet hardware torn off and other issues. They were installed at National Indoor RV centers in Louisville. I’ve been working with them and they say there’s nothing they can do. We have owned multiple RVs for more than 30 years and we’ve never had such a bad ride. This is the newest and most expensive coach we’ve ever owned and we know worry about other issues that might be going on that we can’t see. What can we do?

I have both timbren and sumo springs.. timbrens on my 1500 are definitely stiffer and handle more overload applications, 4 sumos on my 36' camper to help with the sway and bumpy ride. The stiffer they are they more they handle the load, sumo compresses a lot compared to timbren so it can be a softer ride. Both of these have made it possible to tow such a large camper with a 1500 but your truck will take a beating even with all this tech. 1500 just not made for the application i was putting it through , upgraded to a 2500..

Would a change to Sump springs also need an adjustment in the camber setting? If we use the same setting on camber with the new springs could it possibly have an effect on early tire wear on the outside edge? We’ve installed Sumo springs about 3-4 years ago and love the changes it’s made in wobbly stability (we have a Sprinter Chassis Winnebago View 2017). However we’ve never been able to get over 25000 miles on a set of new front tires. No matter what we try we can’t find a shop to set the various things to make them work. It’s frustrating to keep changing tires and also not fun to get the choppy ride that comes with the tire wear on the outside.
@SuperSpringsInternational
@SuperSpringsInternational 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience with SumoSprings. We appreciate your loyalty to our product and are glad to hear about the positive changes it has brought to your vehicle's stability. Regarding your question about adjustments to the camber setting, while SumoSprings typically do not require adjustments to the camber setting, maintaining proper alignment is crucial for tire longevity and optimal performance. Using the same camber setting with the new springs may indeed have an effect on early tire wear on the outside edge, especially if your vehicle has experienced excessive tire wear in the past. We recommend consulting with a professional alignment specialist who can assess your specific situation and make any necessary adjustments to ensure proper alignment and tire wear. We understand the frustration of frequent tire changes and the discomfort of a choppy ride due to tire wear. We encourage you to seek out a reputable shop that specializes in alignment and suspension work to address these concerns comprehensively. If you need any further assistance or guidance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team. We're here to help ensure you get the most out of your SumoSprings experience. -Matt

hey guys and gals thanks for the informative video. If you have time to respond it would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2017 Ford Transit 250 highroof extended, that at the moment it is a cargo van... Soon to be converted into an adventure tin can!! Im hoping to keep the interior build out under 2500 lbs loaded and may push 3k depending on the trip as well as 400lbs of motorcycle and rack hanging off the rear bumper. what colour would you recommend ? Also if a mild lift (2 inches) is added down the road would that basically eliminate their usability or would I still retain some benefit. cheers

Hi Billy, I'd go with our SuperSprings and SumoSprings for the rear and our Coil SumoSprings for the front of your van. This combo will help keep your van level with all the motorcycle weight hanging off the back and still ride smoothly and controlled. A 2-inch lift should be fine. In the future if you need some spacers for the SumoSprings you can always message us. When making the initial fitment specifically in the rear how do you set up initial ride contact loaded vs unloaded ? Will fitment with the recommended 1/2 inch bump stop clearance unloaded suffice once the van is built out with no future adjustments? or if i'm setting up on an already loaded van how is initial squish determined. ?? hope that makes sense thanks again

Durometer readings and density are completely different concepts. A durometer reads hardness (which, for an elastomer, suggests elastic modulus), and density is just the mass per unit volume.
@SuperSpringsInternational
@SuperSpringsInternational 3 ай бұрын
SumoSprings utilize density as a key metric because it directly affects the performance characteristics of the material. The density of the microcellular urethane used in SumoSprings influences their ability to compress and rebound effectively, providing the right balance of support and cushioning for various loads and driving conditions. Unlike airbags or steel springs, SumoSprings' density is carefully engineered to deliver consistent performance over time, maintaining their shape and effectiveness even under heavy loads. This ensures that vehicles equipped with SumoSprings enjoy improved stability, reduced sway, and a smoother ride, making them a reliable and durable suspension enhancement option.

These are too stiff after 1 trip I don’t think this is wise to keep them on. I can’t afford new so is it possible to soften these with adding holes? Is this a good idea? Could you please help?

Hi there! If your F53 GVWR is 18k and you have a yellow rear kit, then it seems to me you have the incorrect part number for your setup. With an 18k GVWR you will need the blue kit for the rear which is softer for the lighter F53's. It is recommended to return the kit and order the correct part number. If you need assistance ordering the correct item, please contact our Customer Service team.

Thanks for the great explanation! I have an RV based on a 2021 extended Ford Transit Van. Weight is 8500 lbs before we load it up a little. What color would you recommend for the rear? Is there also a product for the front of the 2021 Transit van? PS: Just to confirm, it looks like on the Transit van I just replace the current bumpers.

Hi Jon - there's a couple options here. Of course, having SumoSprings is an option you want on there because that's what's going to give you the vibration reduction and damping. The kit for front and rear is the K-10-008. That includes the rear SumoSprings and the Coil SumoSprings for the front. In the front it's the CSS-1195 - a simple insert that is the same material as our rear solution. This is will solve the nosedive and side to side movement. If you think it's a real heavy build, we have a steel helper spring for the rear also. We're standard equipment on the Coachmen class B line and they use the steel on their transit since it's so heavy. That's the SSA43. You can also pair that with the SSR-121-40 in the rear to get the SumoSprings benefits and the support of the steel. Hope that helps. -Tom

@@SuperSpringsInternational Thanks for the reply. The Coachmen is actually what we have! It's really stable, but it would be nice to dampen the rear a little. I think I will add the SumoSprings you mention. Just one question--when installing, do you recommend leaving a little space or go for constant contact? (PS: after I posted this question, I found your video where you mention both together. Sorry if I posted the same question in two places.)

@@nooneidaho333 Super! Need to wait for warmer weather to install. By the way, about the only problem I see installing is that, when load is off the tires, I only have about 2.5 inches of working space. Any tips on getting the socket in and out? I was thinking of stacking several short spacers to that I can take them off one at a time after installation.
@nooneidaho333
@nooneidaho333 Жыл бұрын
@@jon8625 best I've seen is get as much load off as you can, and hand start it with a socket extender, then you can shimmy it out as the sumo will give quite a bit. Will take some pull but you wont hurt the SumoSprings.

Hi there! As noted in the instructions, if there is insufficient clearance to install the SumoSpring it may be necessary to unbolt the lower shock/strut mount and swaybar link and apply downward force on the tire. Once installed, reattach strut and swaybar and torque to manufacturers specification.
