Totally agree with this review. Especially the food. Been at many (perhaps 20) resorts at this price point and it doesn't live up. Its the singel reason we haven;t been back.

We chose it based on reviews like yours: not really party vibe (we love to just relax) and we definitely aren't foodies, care more about fun daytime buffets that gourmet dinner quality. Also great info on resort credits, thanks for going through the 3-4 hour sales pitch so we don't have to 😊

We just got back from the Sun Palace and loved it. We have been multiple times and just said a firm “no” since the beginning on the whole sales pitch. They left us alone for the rest of our trip. The three different menus at Aurora were awesome but the street food night was the best. Fuego was great but we didn’t like the Thai. The pool snacks were awesome, go for the Mexican options instead of the classic wings. We are non members and we never felt “left out” of anything, in fact, many servers told us it’s not worth it to pay so much for the membership as you are eating and drinking the same as those with a membership. The only difference is some of the pool and beach seating that you mentioned, but the non-member seating is literally 10 feet away, no big deal. Great review though!

We've been to Cancun once before and stayed at an all inclusive family resort that we loved. The only downside of that resort was the lifeguard situation. He would only allow people to hang out on the sandbar. If you moved AT ALL to try and get beyond the crashing waves he'd blow his whistle. CONTINUOUSLY. I swear we have PTSD from that crazy whistle. 😂 My question is can you relax in the water and is waist deep? The beach and the water is where we like to be. We're actually mermaids!!😁

GREAT REVIEW! Very fair and accurate. Wife and I stayed at Sun palace in July 2023 to celebrate our anniversary. We are going back in a couple months around the same time this year. We really like this place for all of the pros that you listed. And the cons are actually in line with our preferences. A friend recommended that we fly in and stay near the airport the night before check in at the resort. This way you can arrive early morning of check in and get a full day in. Have you done this? Will the resort check you in, take your bags, and give you access to everything but your room? Sorry for the long comment. Thanks!

We went to Sun Palace in March...they asked us to hear their song and dance about memberships...and we just say no and head to the bar or pool until the room was ready...great time, we like the small feel of the resort...be anywhere in minutes...we actually stayed 8 nights...not bored at all...didnt even leave the resort...and time flew by

A tip on getting seats at the pool. Sure getting up at the crack of dawn, will get you a lounger. Better yet, have breafast get to the pool at 10-11 AM, find some unused "saved" loungers and the pool concierge will award these to you, even if it is saved by a Diamond Member. A cash tip is "normally" required and/or expected.

Nice video, but something to point out. We have booked through our Diamond Member "Friend" 5 times, the meeting is not mandatory. Again, that could depend on the members’ contract that refers you. We declined the meeting for the first 4 trips, then on the 5th, agreed to go to the meeting in exchange for 2,000 spa credit & $500 (Same as Cash) hotel credit. By booking through a member, we got roundtrip airport transportation, 2 -30-minute massages, 2 Mani-Pedi's, 1500 hotel credit & 4 free excursions. The meeting was low pressure, nothing to be afraid of, at 90 minutes, we said we were not interested and left, with no hard feelings. As she said in the video, there is a huge difference in spa credit, same as cash credit and plain hotel credit. We always leave with a ton of unused hotel credit, spa credit always gets used, along with the same as cash credit.

This might be the resort for me I like smaller resorts close to the airport and like the older crowd

We love this resort and love the food but totally understand how it might not be for everyone. As a teacher in my 20’s sometimes the relaxation vibe is what I want but I’m debating doing more of a party vibe next time!

Your videos continue to educate us and remove anxiety of the unknown. We love to snorkel, even if it's just looking at the sandy bottom - Does Sun Palace offer any beach gear, snorkel gear, etc.? Should we anticipate sitting on a towel on the beach or have confidence there will be seating? We will definitely look at your recommendation for El Cielo Cozumel.

My husband and I both in our 40’s visited Sun Palace this year and we also didn’t love the restaurant foods, and we thought the room service was awful. The beach was amazing but the pool just didn’t have enough seating nor enough current music. Once the sun goes down the whole place goes to bed! We were very bored with our evenings which was a very unfortunate part for us. What’s the point of the in room mini bar if you can’t make a drink and go hang out. I mean you can….but with who? The place was empty. Even the night bar was a major snooze. With all those things in mind and the same budget, where would you recommend we go next time? I love your channel by the way!

I went to the hard rock and it was very expensive!! But honestly it was awesome!! I didn’t get anything pushed on me in sales, I felt safe, everyone was awesome! I would recommend the hard rock! Trip for 3 days. Once I got to 4-5 days it was a lot of the same.

Thanks for the review, it was very informative. We’re “Platinum” members, and all that seems to mean is we were suckered twice. Unless you’re a Diamond, you’ll be treated just like anyone who books on any travel web site. We attended a sales pitch meeting, got the perks they offered to attend but did not upgrade this time. They were not happy, and the red carpet treatment stopped. Having said that, we do love going to Palace Resorts, and we just got back from a 7 day stay on July 6 at Sunrise. We went to Beach Palace so we could enjoy the ocean for one day. The beach at Sun Palace seems nicer, and not as crowded as Beach Palace; adults only does seem like a plus, so next time we’ll swing by Sun Palace instead. I don’t think we would stay there, though, as we like being able to go to all three properties at Moon Palace with all the different restaurant choices, and entertainment. You are right about the resort credits being a scam. You might be able to buy 2 or three items at the store. Universal credits are good, as you can use them as cash to pay for excursions, taxes, even for reservations.
