@@piccalillipit9211 Totally agree... We all know what the result is going to be, regardless of when the GE takes place... On the assumption that, the longer they dither, then the worse will be the defeat.... ( Incidentally, the last possible date for the GE is Monday 28th January 2025.... As Elections are usually held on Thursdays, then the last realistic date would be Thursday 24th January 2025.... )... So, the only question to be considered in the bunker under Downing Street is :- Do they want a bad defeat, a very bad defeat, or a very, very bad defeat ?

I don't understand the political and media response to the Wragg business. The exchange of explicit images isn't an issue - they were solicited and no-one was underage so it's his private life and not a resigning matter. I'd have given it a raised eyebrow, a 'dearie, dearie me', and moved on. However, Wragg giving the private numbers of his colleagues to people that he *knew* were blackmailers seems to me to be a very grave offense. If I'd done something similar in any job I've ever had I'd have been summarily dismissed and immediately escorted off the premises by security - I'd genuinely consider myself lucky if I was allowed the opportunity to resign before I was fired. Why hasn't he resigned? Why isn't anyone calling for his resignation?

Rishi Sunak on Monday should be calling a general election now. It's clear the Tories are useless. I've never voted Conservative or Labour in my life, never will, but you would think the Tories would at least throw out some referendums at the very least. Why not one on Proportional representational voting, net zero needs a referendum on whether we go down the wind and solar energy path (unreliable and self harming in my opinion) or we go nuclear power and fracking. Let's have one on free speech, because it's clear both the Tories and Labour haven't a clue what free speech actually is anymore. The Tories can't even give the public that.

It is not being out of Europe that impoverishes us. It is how money is created, and the purpose of creating it. How money is created can be seen on the You Tube "Money Creation and Society" video, at the midpoint which is one hour and 15 minutes into the video. The way to end the systematic impoverishment of the home owning population is to embrace the Table Mountain Housing Finance Model. There is some maths, but it is a viable alternative to the present practice. There is no interest! Integral borrowings in early and late adult life is offset by integral savings in mid life. This work is available on line. Just google the string "Table Mountain Housing Finance Model". Cheers.

The situation is complicated by Truss and the fact that rates have to be kept high by the BOE to enable further Gilt sales Reeve has stated that investment in infrastructure will be split from general debt in OBR calculations because it has a positive economic multiplier and is essentially self funding. This allows for expenditure beyond the current budget but also stops cutting funding from say HS2 having any effect on the general budget like Sunak has just done.

You might want to think about why this was the case when we should be striving for energy independence. Rolls Royce have the capacity to make SMR's, you might want to ask yourself how an American firm got the contract and what deal was done behind the scenes, knowing that the decision makers would need a new way to make a living after the GE.

Still, a lot more damage can be done by the tories. Hopefully, the election will happen soon.

I've got a bet with Natasha Clarke of LBC (she doesn't know it, but we do) because she keeps saying that it's going to be November, and I've always maintained it's June.

I think at the moment that Wragg decided to pass his colleague’s details over to a blackmailer, he ceased to be worthy of anything but disdain. Man up, call the police and don’t just pass the problem on to others.

If they cared about the efficient, cost-effective way of holding an election they would have held it at the same time as the local elections. But of course the Tories don't actually care about that but I've a funny feeling that they will care again when Labour are back in charge.

It's a resigning matter. This is a fool in a position of power who has exposed himself (pun intended) as a national security risk.
