I sold my 66 and 67 Chevy novas they were show room fast cars . I picked up a 63 and I cut my floors pans out myself put new pans in trunk also and looks awesome but it has original straight 6 in it I’m looking at a 327 and a LS . Think I’m leaning more to the LS . Yours rocks 👍

I had a '65 & a '66 when i was in my late teens and early 20's. Boy if i could turn back the clock 40 years. Love chevy ll's

when i look at that Nova i think she is a cruiser. simple LS1/60e combo seems super fitting for it.

I liked the editing. Felt like i was riding shotgun in a Quentin Tarantino movie.

Thanks brotha! Can’t wait to get it running right and get a real number

I'd stick with the 60e. Sure you can't beat on it like a glide, but having overdrive is pretty handy.

You aren’t wrong lol

It's called percussive maintenance and it's a legitimate strategy.

Haha that’s very true!

My buddy just put the CPP kit in his nova, it changes to double A Arm suspension, better brakes
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
Those are nice! I actually sold one to a buddy for his nova lol!! 🤷♂️🤦♂️
@xozindustries74514 жыл бұрын
Dick Hamm you should do the install of his on your channel unless it’s already done
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
I did the CPP strut rod delete kit, but that’s all she’ll be getting at least for the foreseeable future

Nice ride brotha! What is it geared? I'm building a 63, 5.3/4l60. I'm on the fence with rear gear ratio. A driver, but want to beat on it some too.
@DickHamm3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This car has a 3.55 rear gear. It’s really good cruising with the 60e. If you get a nice converter I would think you can have your cake and eat it too to get a nice 60ft. Just my opinion. A lot of ppl run more like a 3.73 or 4.11 with a OD trans but 🤷♂️

Got a 63 that’s fairly stock and I’m shopping around for a gently used 5.3 or 6.0. Trying to work out if it absolutely needs a new front end or if I can just send it. Aside from the small changes you talked about, yours looks stock right? Heavier springs maybe?
@DickHamm3 жыл бұрын
Stock springs I cut a coil off of them. You'll need a GTO oil pan, and either modified manifolds, church boys shorty headers, or something that will work with the Nova stock rear steer. Depending on your end goal for the car and budget I would say just weigh your options before you buy components. This car will be getting a TCI front clip, although I know its expensive, I got one used.

What’s the page you were talking about in the last of your video? Do I need to subscribe to that page to continue seeing your videos?
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
I think I was referencing my Patreon page that I started. It's been slow on my end making that more awesome, but basically I decided to put some content, my podcast type show "Hot Rod Philosophy" on that page only. That and a few other small things, but it won't change anything we do here on KZfaq, so you are good to go as far as that goes! Thanks for the question Alan

Is this car mini tubbed? Or narrowed? Looks killer great job
@DickHamm3 жыл бұрын
It is not, I believe the rears are little 215s in the stock wheel well! I do plan to mini tub it in the future

Good video. You may however need a microphone on your shirt or something to get better audio when you are just talking. I liked the rest of the editing of the video. Nice burnouts! How built is that engine? Thanks
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback, I agree with you! I’ve been since looking into some mics. It’s just a higher milage LS1 with a cam and springs!
