Happy #ClassicCountryCovers SUNDAY, friends!!! Had to post my usual Monday video a day early because this week is going to be a busy one, but all good things! Here’s one of my favorite Kris Kristofferson tunes “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down”. Hope to see y’all THIS TUESDAY, March 28th at my show at the Station Inn!! Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm!! Trisha Yearwood does a great cover with Kriss at a Johnny Cash tribute concert.Sammi Smith and Gretchen Wilson have recorded the song.Both are excellent renditions.

This was a wonderful cover! Thank you for staying true to the sad, melancholy core of this song. Too many artists try to pep it up too much and thereby lose the essense of it, but you have definitely captured that well here! Thank you!

Does that really fit the mood or aesthetic of this song though? This is one of the most melancholy songs ever written, and the tone of the song is sadness and despair. Employing grandiose vocals would betray the essence of the song. I love her simple, sad cover of the song.
