Today we are taking a closer look at the smallest model in Sundown's new SFB lineup. SFB stands for Sundown Full Bridge and these amps have many benefits over traditional half-bridge Class D amps. Namely, they can be much smaller and less expensive than the traditional Class D amps. But does this small size and big power come at a cost? Only time will tell. In this video I'll take a closer look at the SFB-1000, the "1000 watt" amp which currently sells for $239.99 online.

Which Rockford Fosgate Punch 200 Were You Running In Your Honda On The JL W7 10 Sub? I 've been waiting for this video, these little amps are power houses. I have a 2 k sfb on a zvx and it slams so hard . I've never had issues with this amp heating up and and the bass / clipping knob is such a nice addition to owning one of these amps.

Thanks for getting back to me on the testing of Digital Design amps I love when you test the old school amps they were some good amplifiers back in the late 80's and early 90's I used to run punch 45 then Orion 225 hcca's down to half ohm loads ran Rockford 200 dsm and 500 mono block. Again thank you for the testing that you waiting for future video of more amp!

Awesome to hear people that remember the amps/subs that got me started in the late 80’s like my punch 45 w/(1) Punch 15” in my Civic I had for 4 yrs. all through high school. Then once I got a job I moved on to the Hifonics Cyclops (100wx1) paired with (1) Kicker 15” sub that slammed for the time blowing away the Punch set-up I mentioned! I then got serious with the Orion 225 hcca ( laughable they were considering it a 50 watt amp Lol!) on my (2) Kicker 15” subs that was mind blowing (out of this world) back then in early 90’s. Now people have thousands of watts and unheard of drivers that’s on another level! Thanks for trip down memory lane!#🔊❤️@Randy Harris

Very informative and entertaining videos. I'm from the early 80's through the 90's auto stereo era. My first install system on my 78 Camaro..a Concord cassette head unit, an 11 band Sony Eq hooked up to an Alphasonic 100 watt amp and Jensens 6x9 3 ways on the rear deck. As I got more experience in installs and more funds in my pocket, I later added a Sony head unit and cd walkman to the Sony's Aux. Proton plate speakers on the doors, a pair of MTX's tweeters, a Sherwood 200 watt amp powering a pair of 10" Kickers free airs in the trunk with an Altec Lansing ALC 10 electronic subwoofer x over to control the subs. I was happy with that system. There were more powerful systems. On late nights you could hear lowrider Cutless Supremes thumping their 15" pair of subs to the tune of Planet Rock from a mile away . Nice and fun times they were.

I have this amp on the sundown lcs 12 in my wife's car and it does great. Surprised that the sub can handle almost 1k when rated for 300rms.

You can use both input/out put as inputs and not hurt amp. Sundown has posted this numerous times. Most full bridge amps are that way

Yes the manual states both input and output rcas can be used as inputs for traditional dual inputs.

Maybe it's ridiculous, but with no fans or even with them I've ran my amps with rubber mounted legs for stand off venting. I first figured it out using a 3 to 5 stack of firewall grommets, because that's what I had, per leg mount back in 1992. Made a significant difference because cooler the amp is the happier they are. Rubber instead of metal or plastic helps with premature vibration issues. Just what worked for me is all. Plus I use firewall grommets behind license plates, zero rattles ever. 👍✌️

Great videos! I have a quick question, I am hooking up a 150W - 2 channel mini amp & noise compressor to my motorcycle and already have a head unit and 2 speakers installed. Do I just have to wire the amp to the battery and plug in the head unit via auxiliary cords? I installed one of those bridges like you use to test equipment out on the battery under my bikes seat. ( that’s where I have my head unit wired to ). I also wired a toggle switch to turn the head unit on and off so there isn’t constant battery consumption. ( the amp I’m using is “Road Rage” 150W - 2 Channel Mini Amp ).....any help would be appreciated 🙏🏼

I bought dual electronics xpe2700 amp from amazon for 50 dollars after shipping, it is rated 150w rms bridged @ 4ohm, and when i hooked it up in my ford taurus, i was able to set my head unit bass, subwoofer preamp output, and gain to the max db of 6 for the bass and gain, and 12 for the preamp output, turned the gain up to max on the amp with bassboost on, and easily got 300+ watt rms out of it, then hooked up my sub and turned the bass to zero and set my gains to run right around 200watt rms even though the sub can handle 300watt rms with 1200watt peak.

Very cool. I find it interesting that they are using a single output core for both half bridge's. It's either not a full bridge or they're are two separate chokes using the same magnetic's, I wonder. It'd be nice if they'd stop rubbing off the IC's,

apparently the output can be used as input also, so you can use stereo sub out from the deck and it will sum them together.

Question? What would be a perfect ported loaded enclosure to match with one of those amps? Does it run hot over extended mid volume use? I’m planning a system for my Kenworth truck and would like feedback on amps and subs that can take mid volume for many hours and not get hot. There’s a lot of videos out there that talk about what bangs a few minutes, but none that go over extended use...can you help?

First off love the channel bud. I bought my amp from your reviews. It's a taramp 3200 watt 2 ohm I think . Looking to spend about 400 on subs. I was thinking about running a second amp. 1 per sub. I would love to see you dyno test the new mtx jackhammer amplifiers as well as the xthunder amps on MTX’s official website. Not exactly old school but Would love to see how they perform. Been thinking about getting either the jackhammer jh15001 or the xthunder 1500-1. What are your thoughts on these new mtx amps? Are they as good or better than the old school mtx 2300 series. I use to own a mtx thunder 2300 and that amp kicked some serious power. Eventually sold it and still regret it to this day. Figured I’d give these new mtx thunder amps a try, but I’ve been hearing mixed reviews about MTX. Some say MTX went downhill and aren’t as good as they use to be. Odd that I tried google and KZfaq, but couldn’t find any user experiences or reviews on the new mtx amps either. Doesn’t seem to be much real world reviews or any in-depth videos about these new amps. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Keep up the great work! Love your channel!!!

I need some help. I have the same amp running a SA classic on 1 ohm. the amp keeps clipping. I sent it to sundown for testing. they said amp is good and issue is cause by bad rca signal from the radio and music source bluetooth. They said it was premature clipping. Is there such thing? How do I fix this?

So i got 2 12” skar vd-12 shallow mount at 4 ohm and each are 500 watt rms will this amp work if i wire both subs to 1 ohm? These will be going in a 06 single cab silverado if you need to know that. Also if it doesnt work can you point me to the right direction on what amps i should be looking for

Hey Derek... alot of people say that the high powered Brazilian style/designed amps are lacking in the low frequency range. Numbers look good but the bass is sub-par. Would you agree/confirm that rumor? Is that your experience with these types of amplifiers?? Thanks in advance for your input. 👍😎👍

Ummm no it would have popped like popcorn 🍿 definitely started at 1 ohm I’ve seen 2 tested the the 3 and 5k real world power and they both did over rated

I bought the sub-3000d. Mfg date 3/20. No tiffany RCA jacks and only 1 set of speaker outputs. I had to fix the RCA jacks as one would push in when the rca was connected.

I was pretty pumped up to buy this amp after I watched some videos about it. I purchased this amp to replace my power acoustic razor 2500d budget amp that was featured in a video on this channel. To be honest I hear no difference in the 2 amps. at least not $120 worth of a difference. I tested each on a set of JL Audio 12" subs and then on a set of 12" Gothic subs. I tried wired at 2 ohm and 1 ohm. Currently looking for a different amp, maybe I can get someone to buy it off of me to try and recuperate some of the cost. Do you think you could review a Kicker 46cxa1200.1t?

Why does it go to 1000w at 2ohms? Was hoping to run one but don't wanna draw too much power from the car. Will it always try and run as high as it can? If I get a 750 watt subwoofer, will it only draw 750watts?

Just curious if you had any issues with the RCA voltage being over 2v with this amp? I installed a 200.4 SFB and my deck is clean at 0db up to 37. With the amp at 0 gain it was full clipping at 34. My RCA's put out around 2.25v. Curious if this is an issue with all full bridge amps.

Did u ever come to a conclusion for this problem, my sfb 1000d is clipping just trying to push a skar sdr 10" 600rms woofer
