The Sundown SA12’s are one of the best subs for the money. The bass is insanely crisp and accurate, not to mention loud AF! They will take double the RMS rated from factory. The SA12’s were too heavy for my build so I had to let them go! Thankfully I have an extra setup, the Sundown X8 v3. It is rated for 800rms and I’m feeding it 1k with no distortion or clipping. It is the best sounding sub I’ve ever heard and absolutely destroys the low notes.

I've always had a system of some sort. I used to add drivers and subs when I was young. Fortunately, the Stinger and my last car 440i, had a good Harmon Kardon, or HK system, like we used to call it. Good enough for these aging ears.

Look into a DJI pocket 2 creature bundle comes with everything you need you might have to buy some more wireless mics but other than that you should be fine I just picked up a 2022 ascot green gt1 looking forward to creating content with u

Just bought the X8 with a tuned box. Will be tuning to 34hz. I’m JB4 tuned (MAP2 daily) with Injen Intakes and don’t want too much weight holding me back since power is more important. Love your channel btw! Hopefully they sound good on my GT1 (non HK)!

If you’re bumping like that a decent amount of the time that will absolutely contribute to plastics and seals coming a bit loose leading to rattles here and there.

Any recommendations for something that is good but compact? Been look to add something but still need to trunk space because of my kids stroller for when we use my car

Depends on your budget, but this X8 by sundown is $310 plus $200 for the box. The box is just as important as the sub when it comes to sound. Never skimp on the box. It only needs 750 rms and good amps are not that much now days. The install is insanely easy DIY to keep factory system in place

Well, I'm at the Kia dealer now for the trunk rattle. The good news is, mine is the only Stinger here and the tell me they never have them in for issues. Yeah, I probably could've fixed it myself but I have 1 year platinum coverage, so I might as well use it.

Awesome! I hope they fix it right, I have the same package and maintenance for life , wheel tire etc. but they couldn’t seem to do it right, came back after 3k miles and again 3k after the second time. They used too small washers and didn’t put rubber between the blocks

Yeah I was going to make a follow up, I checked all my grounds and they are all still solid. However, the ground on my amp was a little loose. I reconnected the lit kit and none of the issues replicated. It seems to be a one off or it very well could have been that amp ground being loose. I’ll def keep you guys posted

I currently run a super heavy skar evl 12 with the vented enclosure and 1500w amp in my stinger, haven't tuned the amp yet but it sounds clean currently, but looking to size down to an 8, and heard nothing but good from sundown, but just one question, do you run that 8 in a sealed enclosure? What's the model of the sub and amp?

Sundown X8 in a ported box tuned to 34hz. I got everything from Down4sound.com . My amp is a little overkill but it’s extremely efficient and high end Korean board. It’s the Crescendo S1V2. All that info is in the vid

Nope, no dimming of lights or clipping power signals. However, with a 150 amp alt, the max clean power is around 1200 rms with my big battery back there. This is the same battery they put in the GT2 stingers that have a lot more bells and whittles than mine does. Stock electrical with my car can push 1200 easy, but I would do a the big 3 if going that route. This thing slammed hard and got super low, clean bass at only 1K rms, the hatchback has a lot to do with it 100%

I have a pair of 6.5 mojo’s on a 1000 watt mono Memphis amp. Them bastards sound nice. I’ll send you a pic in instagram. They actually made to fit under the seat of a crew cab pickup. ( had them in my king ranch)

At the time of this video, I had the infamous electronic waste gate valve actuator rod squeak, I went on to make a vid after, but they still voided my warranty with it off the car. Some dealers don’t care, but the one I went to gave me crap for a catback exhaust and carbon spoiler lol, then they cracked into the ecu and sent data to Kia corporate, so worse case scenario here

Oh and the Stinger made me add the sub in my mid-40's I had to do it. Love it. Haven't had a system since my mid-20's. My wife thinks I'm crazy and my 16 teen year old son tells me what do u think you are dad in your 20's. 🤣 lmao. 56 DEGREES AND 🌞 LOL. I would be freezing my ass off. CALI. 70,80, 90, 100 and almost always sunny.

I haven't caught the bug yet bc the stock sound system is so good but its bound to happen. I had two 12in Kicker comp VRs in the kicker ported box in a 96 hatchback escort back in the day lol s.l.a.b.

Ohh yeah lol, I had some comp VR15’s back in the day. It was a sealed box on a Memphis 1000d . Back when a good amp was a dollar per watt. It’s crazy how far they’ve come and lowered the price on amps

Yeah I will have to say, a little bit of an impulse buy. I tend to be a little extreme and extreme that bass was. They sat in my office longer than they were in the car for sure. I love this X8 though, it stays 😃

I guess I'm just old but I do NOT understand the whole SPL thing. When you're moving so much air that you're flexing windows, interior parts, and even body panels you're just turning your beautiful vehicle into a rattletrap of squeaks and, well, rattles. Don't get me wrong...I am into high quality audio. I have a ludicrous amount of $$ sunk into my McIntosh home system. I just got my new Stinger and I do have plans to upgrade the factory audio but it won't involve filling the entire useful trunk with subs and then shaking every bolt loose in my car in an effort to max out the SPL. Who wants to listen to that crap, anyway?

Yeah I don’t know what got in to me but I wanted it loud lol, those Sat in my office for awhile though, I’m using the X8 which has amazing clear and lowww bass. The sound quality is excellent with it. I didn’t want to rattle it apart either but mainly I dumped them because of the weight , wayyyy to heavy for what I’m doing

I love BASS but I'm no longer into Rockin the block. I've also always had a system but now it's just smaller. I have an Alpine 10 right now in My Stinger. I wanted an 8" with a tuned box. Now I know where to get it.

For sure, yeah that x8 is crazy. It pushes a lot of air for an 8 and gets really low. But mainly the sound quality is phenomenal
