There are people with different interpretations of these songs. The three albums are about the Vessel's healing after having his heart broken. It is likely about a past musical partner. If you view all the songs about the 5 stages of grief as they move through the albums, they will make more sense. In my opinion, this song represents that Vessel is alone in his reality during the day. At night time, when he sleeps and dreams, he is able to experience a perfect version of their lost relationship (In turning divine, we tangle endlessly). The reference to sundowners is that when he wakes he is in the harsh absence of her presence and at night he forgets and is able to escape into the fantasy (the night comes down like Heaven). I feel like the basic lore was put out there originally to hide the vulnerability that is actually present in these albums. But the basic lore has been built on so much by fans that it becomes a distraction from the beautiful tragedy and triumph that are at the heart of the true meaning. I'll take the honest, raw interpretation every time.

Well put. The lore is fun and draws people in, which is brilliant purely in terms of marketing, but it does detract from what Vessel is actually saying through his music, even if it is an attempt to protect himself in the process.

Aahhh, the albums begin. So glad you are liking them so far. Vessel knows how to be very ambiguous with his lyrics so it can mean whatever you interpret it as, whatever makes sense to you. The beautiful thing about the lyrics and music is the emotions that it evokes and how it makes you feel. I'm here for it too!! Thanks for reacting to my favorite band. It’s not about sundowners syndrome. He’s making a distinction between how she acts during the day and at night. You will hear many times he says she doesn’t remember or doesn’t remember his name. In chokehold he says we act of our holy duty to be constantly awake. I believe there was alcohol and drug usage on both sides that occur at night and they live “holy” during the day when everyone is watching. The night comes down like heaven because that’s when they do the things they can’t do during the day. The night doesn’t belong to God because that’s when their “unholy” behaviors take place. This song is also called back to in the song Take me back to Eden I don’t put any stock into the so called lore therefore this is my interpretation II came in on ep two

by the end, at least, I didn't think it was directly about sundowners just that there are parallels with lyrics and the album title. I think we have a similar interpretation but I wasn't thinking about drugs and you worded it better lol.

The so called lore is basically fan made, and I think we deserve to say and read a bigger diversity of interpretations like yours.

I have gotten so much crap over my interpretations of their songs that I’m also most afraid to give my interpretation when asked by the host. I wanted to know who they are so I looked it up, went back to pre sleep token and learned a lot from previous works. I believe it makes a difference on how ST music is interpreted. I enjoy your reactions but if you want to dissect the lyrics the way you excel at, you really should understand the lore or this is going to go way over your head IMO

I respectfully disagree. The lore is 99.9% made up by the fan base. I follow the story just fine if not better because it’s not wrapped up in nonsense for me. I also know the pre sleep token band, I’ve read and listened to every song written that’s out there going back to 2011. This is not about a diety it’s a bout a girl. Callbacks to previous lyrics with previous band ties it all together. Respectfully 😊

@@darcystcorner2580 I mean you can keep saying that but it doesn't make it so. To each there own, not trying to argue. I agree the music is written to work without the need for the lore: The lyrics CAN and intentionally have many meanings that people will be able to latch onto. But don't tell me you can account for the meaning of ever lyric at face value without embracing the entire show being put on. I'm well aware of everything they've done prior, i've seen their faces/names/prior work by accident and choose to have amnesia about it out of respect for what they are doing. That info doesn't make you or me more in the know about what one man is thinking when he creates.
