The long-awaited vacation is approaching, and I began to look for something light and airy for a trip that could be worn on the beach or while relaxing in a warm resort. A sundress is ideal for such occasions - it is easy to put on and take off, providing freedom of movement and not causing discomfort even on the hottest days. As a talented needlewoman, I always strive to create unique and functional things with my own hands, which is why I decided to sew a comfortable and beautiful sundress for a trip on my own.
I wanted it to look feminine, but at the same time be simple and easy to perform. I chose a delicate summer fabric with a floral print that adds a touch of charm and romance to my sundress!
I fold the fabric in four layers and measure 15 cm from the fold.
I measure the length of the sundress 70 cm.
From the top I lay down 5 cm.
I connect two points with a smooth line.
I measure 11 cm down.
I draw a line parallel to the upper cut, and measure 23 cm from the fold.
I connect with a smooth line.
I draw a straight line down.
I cut out.
From the rest of the material I cut out thin strips from which I make inlays, and wide strips of 6 cm, the length of the fabric.
I sew the side seams on the overlocker.
I apply inlays to the armholes.
I sew on an overlocker.
I bend and do a stitching of 1 mm.
The armholes are nice and neatly finished.
I take a wide strip, cut it in half.
I sew on an overlock to the upper cuts.
I make ties.
I insert the ties into the drawstring of the top. I fold the bottom of the dress and sew.
My sarafan is ready!
This cutest sundress has become my indispensable companion on the beach and during the holidays. A simple cut allows you to express your individuality and experiment with various accessories - hats, bags and jewelry, making each look unique!
