Too Much Kirby (TMK) . This series created by Maple Riot takes the cuteness and innocence of the Kirby games and turn them into a nightmare. There are 3 seasons in the TMK series, but the 3rd is still ongoing,. So in this deep dive, we’ll be taking a look at seasons 1 & 2.

At first I thought "Kirby 06" was referring to Super Star as Kirby's 6th game. However, Super Star was actually Kirby's 4th game. So then I looked at Super Star again and realized something. I think "Kirby 06" refers to "Milky Way Wishes" which is the 6th game in Super Star's collection. It's also where Marx makes his debut.

It's ironic how such a beautiful work of art comes from the same fandom that more often than not it's just "Haha, this Kirby character is doing a messed up thing and it's funny because it's messed up." or "What if we made a character trait obnoxiously-over-the-top?". I'm happy it exists at all!

I feel like meta knight represents the car driver by Karl's body, as he's the only one seen driving ,and also seems very disconnected to almost everything regarding TMK.

The familiar glasses could refer to Carl being shot. The glasses break near the left eye and it could be possible that Carl wears glasses from working as a beta tester and constantly being in front of screens all day as a job. Also, the boss says they're familiar would would also make sense for it to be Carl's glasses from working directly before Donny and perhaps Donny replaced him and worked in the same place.

the games alone is a bit of nightmare fuel with final bosses being cosmic horrors and the implication that Shiver Star from Kirby 64 being a ruined earth (but due to Forgotten Land, that's not the case) and need i say more about the pause screens?

I think the glasses at 39:00 is beta tester #01 that shot and killed and the broken placement of the glasses might be a key indicator

i don't really have anything to say on the story going on here but i just need to bring up how seriously impressive the animation work on this series is. 25:30 - 26:05 blew my mind. it reminds me of the newgrounds flash animations i used to watch as a kid that blended the creators own art and animations into them but taken up to 10

I always love how TMK feels like a character you could see along the actual Kirby lore. Honestly looks like what Kirby would be if he were possessed by Dark Matter. Besides that, its great to see you cover TMK since you introduced me to some really good analog horrors I was unaware about like The Grizzco Tapes.

Thinking on the glasses, if Karl and Donny did get into a fight IRL as shown in Donny V Marx (Part 2), then maybe the broken glasses are from Karl. And that's why they feel familiar to the boss. Just a thought.

I think this creator is dealing with some harsh stuff quite young and may be using this to tell an allegory for their struggles. Videogames can be used as an escape and so can both ideologies and substances as well as work and following parental authority rather than becoming a functional adult. 1: carl + marx = Karl Marx, creator of Communism... something in stark contrast to the Capitalism of big companies like Nintendo 2: addiction themes: the pink pills. There is a current dumb trend with, mostly kids, taking too much of a certain pink anti allergy medication that results in literal delerium and in extreme cases depression and life threatening situations either from innebriation or simply taking too much for the body to handle. Kids take it on a dare to see "entities" and a whole mythos is being built up around it which is quite dumb since I did this stuff 15 years ago and there was no hat man or nonsense like that. I just sat in a bathroom for hours thinking I was talking to people who weren't there. 3: possible addiction theme, tmk could allude to too much K as in the substance... I don't want to get into specifics but those who look into those pink things then discover the cough one and find out the cough one is a dissociative and so is K so there's a pipleline of sorts. Delerium and dissociation. Escapism. Anger at the capitalist world and the bickering between the left and right. Who knows... Food for thought.

Covering an ongoing series because you simply love it that much and want to get word of it to more people is great, and I fully support the idea. But then to just never cover it again at a later date once the series has been completed is a sin. I really hope to see you revisit TMK in a future Analog Horror video at some point (as well others you've covered in past videos, such as Black Sun)!

heres some things that i think clear up with the gaps or unexplained situations of the characters. 1: the glasses might have belonged to karl because the left part of the lens is the only part thats damaged. 2: meta knight could have killed/shot karl because meta knight is in the car. and there was a car in the scene where karl got shot. --------------------------------------------------------------------- for now,these are the only theories i have about this.
