@@alannabrown4 Her chances are very low given that she hasn't shown bars yet. If she nails bars and comes in 1 or 2 on the event at all four nights of nationals/trials (and continues kicking butt on beam), then she's probably on the team. Anything short of that, she's probably not.

I actually think as long as she hits bars and beam 3 of 4 times each she’s in. When you look at the team after Simone and Shilese, there is a spot for a solid AAer that can contribute a third routine in Leanne, Kayla, or Jordan. The ones who can add anything beyond those three spots are very limited at this point: Jade on VT/FX, Skye on BB but she’s so inconsistent, Kaliya on FX, Tiana on FX, and Suni on BB. If Suni can hit bars even a couple times, she’s worth taking based on that logic. To be clear, after Shilese and Simone, the #3 bars routine in the country at this point is either Jordan or Kayla who would already be on that team in the AA spot. The ONLY one who could contribute something more on bars would be Suni. Combine that with her beam which is a big upgrade over Jordan/Kayla/Leanne, and that’s all she needs. AA is just a bonus for her at this point.

It’s amazing how fast she moved through all of these difficult skills. She performs a whole beam routine in less time than some people take to walk from their front door to their mailbox. 😂 Go, girl!

Look at that big smile at the end. She know she did great! This is one of her best beam performances. I loveeee watching her. Soooo elegance and graceful... so smooth and beautiful to watch. Suni is needed in Paris. She is too good to not go! Praying for her health conditions.

I can't tell from this angle, but was it tucked or laid out? I calculated her D score and I have 6.6 if it was laid out (0.4 + 0.2 dismount bonus), but get her official of 6.3 with a tucked (0.3 + 0 bonus)

@@BelleBlack1 Yeah I think she got it downgraded. Smart dismount for now, but I hope she can upgrade to her double pike for the Olympics if she can do it solidly and it's not too much for her ankles. Or hopefully she can at least work on this one to be laid out!

That's totally fine. Everybody has their preferences. Simone is competing difficulty that no woman has ever done before. In case you haven't seen it already, why don't you look up Suni's college beam routine? She was national college team champion in 2022!

Yes. Mostly girls. They keep screaming all the time even when gymnasts are simply doing choreography. I don't understand why and they need to calm down 😅. In France it's the same, I hope they will be not screaming all the time in the Olympics because it's horrible to appreciate the routines now

I think that would be a good team, but it is far too early to say. Still FOUR competitions to go (when you consider that Championships and Trials are both 2 day competitions), and a lot can happen....

I wonder if her aim is get onto Olympic team as bars and beam specialist? So far Simone and Shilese are more or less guaranteed unless there is injury. So that leaves three spots. Jordan will probably get one which means there are two spots for specialists.

Apparently, she attempted her routine three times in podium training or warm-up and fell every single time. I hope Suni will have more confidence by nationals. I'm not worried though because Classics is usually pretty rough and the amount of improvement by nationals every year by everybody who struggled is really something. ❤

@@pajamamama5965 yes, Suni is a beautiful gymnast! Did you watch her when she was competing in college? You can look up her routines on KZfaq. Her floor exercise is so well choreographed and her execution is perfect! Of course, she was wonderful on bars as well! She was NCAA champion on beam in 2022! She competed for Auburn University, which is in Alabama, which I did not previously know. The head coach there is the twin brother of her personal coach! 💜

I’d like to say some areas of improvement- she has gorgeous feet and when is on releve could go up on higher releve. When she finishes and poses she could lift her head and eyes up for a split second. Can’t tell at this angle but it appeared her legs may have been a little bent on takeoff for laysteps, not sure, but pushing more throw the balls of her feet overall will help those jumps even more. Elongation with the upper body really just talking about elongation of spine during poses and slower movements, going up to the neck and head, and lifting the eyes up so we’re not watching her eye lids in the simple things. She did great I’m just looking for things that can make it go up another level.
