Thats not true i suggest you listen to songs from KK, Shaan, Kumar Sanu, Udit or Abhijeet. They could play with, dynamics, pitch & modulation in ways that todays singers simply can not. The hard trow of the voice was sometimes necessary but was not implemented in every song of theirs. Listen to Raja ko rani from Udit and Sanu. Or kuch na kaho by Sanu or Do dil mil rahein hai. Or chaha hai tujhko by udit. Humko humise churalo. Dil kya kare (reprise by Sanu) the lost goes on. ;)

You can say 'Ittefaaq'' or something else, but first time me and my wife went on long drive and played this masterpiece.. literally from that day whenever we play this song we both are getting the same feelings and visualize each and every moment we enjoyed, lived together at that time gives goosebumps and our love bond becomes fresh and more stronger with each passing bits of the music..
