So you said that the imams are not prophets, but if the quran says that the religion became perfected already by muhammad (pbuh) (5:3) and that there will be no excuse against allah after the prophets (4:165), how can the knowledge of the imams that you said is inherited from the prophet be renewed and added to in light of future events by allah (swt) as you say? How does that not go against the quran as they are receiving new revelations that muhammad (pbuh) didnt have access to?

Those are not new revelations. All was already revealed, just not compiled in a 100k pages book. And even then, us humans are mostly unable due to our fragile faith to judge correctly or understand knowledge the way it should be understood. That's the role of the Imams (as) : to display knowledge to the people when needed, and only what they need to know and can handle properly. The Last Messenger (sawas) remains Muhammad (sawas). A simple example coming from bakri literature is the one where beduins come to the Prophet (sawas) and ask him what was the minimum required for them to earn paradise. To which the Prophet (sawas) basically replied with the pillars of Islam (if I remember correctly). This hadith has been taken as something applicable to every Muslim while it's not. This saying concerned a particular beduin, in a particular era, with no house and most probably illiterate. Most Muslims today read, have unlimited access to information, and have plenty of time to study and understand religion, do you reasonably think it applies ? That Allah expects the same from a middle-ages beduin and from a 21st century Muslim ? Obviously not, we each have our share, and have to make efforts to earn the pleasure of Allah. Still, this hadith applies and runs on bakri forums. Simple case with devastating consequences as the companions did not know when and how to apply the ruling of the Prophet (sawas). The Prophet (sawas) replied to the people according to their level of understanding, not according to something that would blindly apply to everyone whatever the case. And it's the same for every single hadith reported from the companions, being applied without full prior knowledge of what this hadith really is about. There is no new revelation, only a revelation that is applied fairly according to Allah's decree by Imams (as) among humans and jinns. " Will you create a being that will shed blood ? I know while you know not"

Why did he bring women & children if he knew they were going to die?

That is how Allah wanted it, and the Imam (willingly) does what Allah wants. Just the same way that prophet Ibrahim took his son to sacrifice for Allah's sake. Of course such actions are not permissible for us normal people, and it is important to make the distinguishment here.

Imam Hussain (AS) bringing the women and children is a sign to the world that his mission was not for power but rather it was for the reformation of his grandfathers ummah "Le-Islah Ummatah Jadi" as Imam Hussain (AS) says. And this is the conclusion that any fair-minded person such as the likes of Charles Dickens has come to: "If Hussein had fought to quench his wordly desires...then I do not understand why his sister, wife and children accompanies him. It stands to reason therefore, that he sacrificed purely for Islam." Not to mention, how anyone who is even remotely familiar with the narrative of Karbala would know, that it is the women who survived such as Hazrat Zainab (SA) who kept the message of Karbala alive and spread it to the people.

I know many people besides the Imams have exclusive knowledge provided spiritually to them through visions and i have seen the events they have informed me about come to manifestation. So i am 100 percent certain the Imams definitely have information provided that no layman has access to.
