Hey there everyone!! I know I said I'd be doing a special video because I hit 100K, and it would probably be a Q&A but.. I realized I'm still a bit too shy to record myself speaking :,,) And I wanted my Q&A to be me talking to the camera directly. I'm sorry.. But I hope you enjoy this video nonetheless! I went for a looser style of painting on this one, because sometimes it's just nice to paint without worrying too much about lineart and precision strokes.. Just making blobs of paint as you go and building layers is really therapeutical! My sketch was very light as well, I wanted it to be mostly a suggestion of where things went, instead of a delimitation. I reccommend painting loosely for everyone who's in an art block, or just uninspired at the moment! Letting ideas flow as you build layers and trying to worry as little as possible about the outcome. I find that when I paint in that style the outcome is usually better than my other more precise work... Interesting! I'd reccommend looking up the concept of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, because it explains why that happens pretty nicely. Usually when I paint more precisely, I'm worrying a lot because if I make one mistake, it's over... That's not good! In looser painting, "mistakes" are more like part of the process ;) Anywho, I hope you enjoy this video, and after this one, there's one more speedpaint, and then after that, probably a different kind of video? Won't promise anything yet though! kfjhgsdkfjhg

Here’s a small tip: I put blush at the corner of my cheeks (diagonal from the eyes) and then blend it. This is just my technique and it works well ;-; I’m still not a pro so take this with a grain of salt lol

I literally envy how bold and confident and just... PERFECT your brushstrokes are. How do you start doing that??
@ewwisuwu5835
@ewwisuwu5835 5 жыл бұрын
This is gonna sound annoying and repetitive but practice is the answer. I'm not a pro myself but I found that my brush strokes looked better with each painting. Not gonna lie, I make way more bad than good art, and so do most of my other rookie artist friends. For the vegetation, I think she's using a Japanese or Chinese (can't recall) technique where instead of having to sketch out individual plants you kinda just do it spontaneously and use the shape of the brush itself to create the shaped of the leaves, etc. Like I said though, this is from my experience and I'm no professional. Hope this was helpful!
@milkywaes
@milkywaes 5 жыл бұрын
oh my!! i didnt know there was a name for the way i paint vegetation :00 thats so interesting!! and yeah, in the end it's always about practice and doing the same thing again and again :,,) there comes a point when painting becomes like.. instinctive?? and you stop thinking about techniques, because you've already successfully stored all that info in your brain!!

I am LOVING this piece! Raw, loose and organic and yet so pulled-together in the end. I love artwork like this but it's hard to find since it's commonly believed that artwork looks best when it's overly neat, inked, and colored in a clean-cut way. That can be beautiful too, but I greatly prefer work where you can practically see the process in each stroke. This is gorgeous, thank you for sharing!

i was watching her thinking like "she's going for a bald girl!! cool." "oh, so its a curly red haired girl then.. cool, cool." "..uhm, are those scars of burn?? OMG it looks pretty though." "aaah, so she's doing the hair last, okay" really, i admire so much people who just know exactly how they're going to draw something, as if you have every little stroke planned, it looks just like magic to me i hope to get in that level some day

just wanted to say how much your art has inspired me so much! about two years ago I found your channel, and it made want to do watercolor because it was so beautiful. now, it’s my favorite medium, and I still need a LOT of practice, but thank you so much!
