Sunny SF-B1805: amzn.to/2M7bd3L (current pricing)
This is the Sunny SF-B1805 indoor cycling bike, and in this video we unbox, build and I give you my first impressions review of the Sunny 1805 magnetic resistance spin bike.
0:00 intro
0:43 components analysis
6:11 sunny sf-b1805 assembly
9:26 sf-b1805 first impressions
14:50 summary
The sunny sf-b1805 costs about $600 on amazon and it shipped to my front door in about 2 days for free. Sunny Health & fitness indoor bikes are popular peloton bike alternatives because they are quality built and inexpensive, and you can put your own screen on the front to play peloton app or apple fitness plus classes, or any classes you'd like.
The sunny 1805 is a popular choice because it is well under $1000 and it has a heavy quality flywheel mass of 44lbs and it's magnetic resistance. The magnetic resistance sunny bike 1805 isn't the prettiest magnet stack, but it definitely gets the job done.
If you want to see my full sunny sf-b1805 review be sure to subscribe because i will be posting that later as i spend more time on this bike. I will also compare the peloton vs sunny sf-b1805 as well as many more comparison videos coming soon.

The SF-B1805 is one of our most popular magnetic resistance bikes and you're right! Although this model is not equipped with electronics - it does allow the user to build their bike however they'd like by adding on sensors and its heavy flywheel ensures consistent momentum during rides to keep up with virtual spin classes. We're happy to hear you're enjoying your new Sunny bike and thank you for your honest review - we really appreciate it!

Your videos are the absolute best..this video convinced me to by the SF-B1805 over all of the others I've been researching..I was torn btween this one and the IC4..but now I'll be saving a lot of money and know I'll be happier with what I''m getting. Also, the SF-B1805 is now only $442.61 as of today..so bonus bonus. Thank you again for all of your awesome helpful reviews!

I love ours, great bike so far, 3rd week of use. My 11 year old uses it daily, the adjustments options are great. I truly appreciate all your reviews and I found them very helpful when making an assessment of what we required prior to purchase. The tremendous variety of bikes you review and compare has been priceless. I would have purchased via your Amazon link, but I live in Canada and the exchange rate is almost crippling when trying to purchase in US dollars. Merry Christmas to you and your family if you celebrate. Respect and thanks from Canada.

Thank you so very much for your excellent tutorial video. I just unboxed and assembled my 1805 bike and it went so smooth because of you. I borrowed a pedal wrench from my friend based on your advice and it was so much easier to put the pedals on with that instead of the wrench that was included. Great video and happy riding! 😊

Thank you for this video. I bought the Sunny 1805 about a month ago and have been loving it since it arrived. Everything was just as you said it was. Thank you so much for these awesome reviews! I originally purchased a Joroto X2 as a Peloton alternative (through your link!), but I have been experiencing trouble with the crank bearing; it makes a consistent clicking sound whenever I ride it, especially in the standing position. Joroto customer service has been kind and responsive, but I don't want to miss my Amazon return window in case Joroto's suggested repairs don't work, so it's going back. I liked a lot of things about the Joroto, but I don't want any unwelcome noises while spinning. I'm purchasing this Sunny 1805 after your excellent review (and a few other good reviews) I saw on KZfaq; hopefully I'll have better luck with this one! Either way, I appreciate all the work you're doing to get this information out there, especially for those of us who are searching for a Peloton alternative.

I hope it works out for you. No matter what man builds, things are going to go wrong, even on expensive products. I noticed the other day that the 1805 is selling on Amazon for $140 more that what Sunny is selling it for on their website. Unfortunately, it is out of stock on their website. So, why did Amazon up the price? Is it price gouging knowing you can only purchase it through them right now, and will they lower the price when Sunny themselves have it back in stock. By the way, there are many reviews I read where people are very upset with Sunny's customer service. Again, I hope it all works out for you.

Just bought this bike and it arrived yesterday!!! I have watched all of your videos and was excited to see this one pop up today! We put it together quickly as your video also demonstrated. Rode a Peloton class last night and really loved the feel of it. Very happy that the Schwinn IC4 was not available because I saved $300! I love that it has no electronics - makes it more versatile, and also, as I have jot heard anyone point out, can be advantageous vs. bikes that need an outlet nearby (for flexibility in placement in the room).

Thanks so much for your informative videos. Originally I was planning on buying a peloton bike (a few coworkers bought) but I decided to save my money and do my research before making such a big purchase and I stumbled across your videos. I’ve never done a spinning class though I do enjoy riding my bike outside during the warm months. Originally I saw a different video on the Sunny SF-B1002 and was planning on purchasing but decided on a magnetic belt drive, never knew about magnetic belt drives 🤷🏻‍♀️until now lol. I’ve narrowed it down to either the Sunny SF-B1805 or the Schwinn IC4. I also plan on using the peloton app and and any other cycling videos on KZfaq. I plan on using the apps on my Amazon fire stick on my TV which is a much bigger screen than my iPad or iPhone. Just need to take the leap and make my decision. Just wanted to say thanks again for your videos and reviews which are helping with my decision.

I bought this model. I'm 6'4". My feedback, I'm having to run the front about 1/2 an inch above the max line which gets it up to about 2 inches below my seat level. As I'm not putting much weight on the bar, not worried about over extending. Now, the seat, with the stock farm saddle, there is no issue having it high enough, but I did replace it with a race saddle similar to my road bike and I have to run it at the absolute max, I don't go above max on seatposts for obvious reasons and I'll say it's still a hair short but works. The build is very heavy and very solid.. no issues there.. super quiet. It's nice, but too bad the seat post and front assembly isn't 2 inches taller.. I'd pay extra for that.

@@TailHappyTV no issues with the 1805, I had it since May, upgraded to SPD pedals in July & used it with the Wahoo cadence sensor, & peloton app to AppleTV. I got it to see if I’d really like indoor spinning cause I wasn’t ready to blow 2G’s on a peloton without really trying out the platform first. Then, I debated between the Keiser & Peloton for the last month before finally pulling the trigger on the m3i last week 😁

I've had the 1805 for about 6 months and love it (no problems yet). Matt, have you thought about adding a bike computer to this fine bike. I upgraded mine using a cycplus M1 (less than $50 on Amazon) and with Wahoo Cadence and Speed sensors. I have a Scoche HR monitor armband so this gives me speed, cadence, HR, time and distance which is pretty complete. It will even support Power pedals if you need. I'm 78 so I ride to HR and can use my tablet to watch KZfaq, Netflix, Hulu or what ever. I love the set up.

Just watching your videos today, thank you, very helpful. Wish I had found them earlier. I just purchased the Sunny SF-B1851 and set it up, (today) it was very easy and seems sturdy as well. This is my first spin bike, I cranked it up to full resistance and with some effort can pedal through - based on this video and some others of yours that seems to be normal for magnetic resistance bikes right? Thanks for this video and also the comparison of this to the Schwinn. We purchased the 1805 and are enjoying it. We also paired it with the Wahoo Cadence sensor as you mentioned. Silly question - does the Cadence sensor translate it's data to show what the mileage would have been? We're hoping to use this as a supplement to our road biking mileage goals. I haven't been able to see where this occurs in the Wahoo app even though there is a spot for it on the display. If the Cadence sensor only measures cadence and nothing else, what do you recommend we get to be able to see the distance? We do love cadence btw, so that's good! Any help is appreciated since you're familiar with this. Thank you again for this wonderful channel!

So the kid in me couldn’t help but to fully assemble the bike and give it a go. Bike is solid and resistance is good enough for me...I have nothing to compare it to except my magnetic trainer, and it’s definitely higher than that. The handlebars aren’t as nice as the 1805, but they have a pulse sensor...which seems to be off a bit, I didn’t compare it to my Apple Watch, but it seemed to read low. I’ll probably only use the “computer” for the RPM. I’ll also have to figure out the resistance knob. I’m used to seeing people turn it 30x, but this goes from 0-100 in like 4 turns. I’m sure after a couple rides I’ll have it figured out. Thanks for turning me on to the Sunny bikes, I probably wouldn’t have even looked at them if it wasn’t for your channel. Just wish I could have bought it through one of your links. Oh well, maybe after fighting with my kids for time on it I’ll be able to get the peloton.

Not sure if all Sunny resistance modules are the same, but my 1805 gets about 8 full rotations until max resistance. Easy enough to stay in the ball park on resistance. Also added the wahoo speed and cadence sensors to get some more data on my workouts; having cadence is a big help during Peloton workouts (prob the same for Apple, iFit, and anyone else out there). Good luck to you!

Hey Tail Happy...I’ve watched many of your reviews and I really like this 1805 but I’ve never seen you talk about whether or not these bikes are adjustable for optimum pedal/seat position, that is, fore and aft. I notice that at 30 sec in, your knees are way far forward. On my road bike we strive to get the knee in the right position over the pedal, etc. but how about on these bikes? I’m 6’ tall and my wife is 5’4” and I read some comments on the 1805 where women said if you weren’t at least 5’6” that this bike would be too stretched out. How does this bike do in that dept? You’re so tall that it’s not easy to imagine watching your video how the fit would be for a shorter person. The handlebars also look a little low (flat) to be relaxing for most. Any insight?

I want to thank you for your detailed reviews. I am in the market for a exercise bike and you give the most information I have seen in any video. I love that you say that you are 6'5. That helps tremendously ! Most people just say, "it adjust for tall people " which doesn't help. LOL! But I have a question. Sunny's website says max weight for their bikes is 220 lb, do you think it can hold 300 lb? Most other companies have 300 lb listed as max. If not, I will go with the Echelon.

Q. Hello from the UK. Finally got hold of a Sunny 1805 bike off Amazon UK. Now, any good value bike is like gold dust in the UK at the moment as we are in lockdown probably till this March. Please can you advise how I can add additional features like heart rate monitors ,speed, calorie, Candance? Is there a "all in one" device with multiple sensors that could work well with the Sunny SF-B1805? Many thanks. Heath

Do you think one could swap IN a dumb bell holder in lieu of or in addition to the water bottle holder, perhaps on the rear of the bike? Also, you seem confident that seat/handlebar 4 way adjustability nicely accommodates YOUR HEIGHT; do you think a smaller 5'2" woman would find fit equally accommodating? As usual, thanks again. When I make my final purchase it will be in no small measure because of you and your wonderfully thorough+informative reviews :)

My 1805 just arrived last Sunday and it’s fantastic. Problem is the pedal fell off and now the crank arm is stripped. I was very careful to attach the pedals are you demonstrated and I’m so disappointed that my bike is now unusable until the new crank arm arrives. Plus side is Sunny was very responsive and when I called I reached an actual human right away. I saw that there is an attachment for and Spd clip on the pedal. Can you recommend an attachment to add to the pedal? I agree that the lack of electronics makes this bike very flexible. I did both Peloton and Apple Fitness rides and it was great... until it broke 😕

I like to row and to use a recumbent stationary bike. I row for about 4 hours each week. I put at least 20 minutes a day minimum into it. Is it better to row every day for half an hour or every other day for an hour? Same question goes for the bike. I like rowing every day … but if it’s better to do it every other day, I can do 10 minutes on my day off and then 50 min on my work day. What do you guys thing? I tend to think a constant half an hour a day is better than a lot one day and then a longer recovery time. But I don’t know. I work out because I want to lose 20 pounds.

Great review; so very helpful...I am finally down to 4 options: THIS (though no monitor, but great build and 4-way adjustability handlebar+SEAT) then the SYNERGY PRO which has full spec monitor including RPMS, but only 2-way handlebar and 4-way seat adjustability and dumbbell holder....The synergy just has lighter flywheel, I think. Finally, the Sunny 1877 is CHEAPER than the SYNERGYs, magnetic, belt, 4 way seat/2-way handlebars, but no dumbbell holder and slightly less substantial monitor than the SYNERGY's. DO YOU HAVE ANY thoughts on either of the SYNERGY Pro+SYNERGY or the less expensive magnetic/belt 1877? I can't believe I am STILL COMPARING these bikes; can't wait to bring her home! Happy Holidays!

I’m a spin instructor but can’t afford a 2k+ bike right now. Read all of the reviews on Amazon and saw your great video. You haven’t had the bike long enough to give a long term review, but some of the Amazon long tern reviews are horrible. Apparently these bikes don’t age well in some cases. The good reviews seem really good; but the bad reviews are really BAD. From sudden loud noises to poor customer service. One thing I’m wondering is about the lightest resistance and being able to pedal super fast (sprint style). I teach a les mills format called SPRINT which is a HIIT program that goes from really light fast pedaling to really slow high resistance hills. so successfully hitting those differences are critical. Any thoughts?
@TailHappyTV
@TailHappyTV 3 жыл бұрын
In my latest schwinn ic4 vs sunny 1805 video I have a timestamped section showing the minimum resistance of the 1805, it is basically zero resistance at minimum and max equals about 85 to 90 percent of the peloton bike plus, 7 or 8 turns from min to max. Hope this helps. Awesome that you are an instructor, rock on!

Tailhappy, I am currently deciding between a Joroto X2 and the Sunny 1805. I'm more or less a beginner, and I've never had a good cycle for working out inside. I think the Joroto may do what I need at a lower price point. My main concern is that I have read it is advisable to have a flywheel of at least 40lb. I know you haven't done your full review yet, but do you have any initial feelings on the drivetrain? Is the 44lb flywheel of the Sunny create a noticeably better/more realistic feel than the 35lb flywheel of the Joroto?
