Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Getting everyone’s private details is a drug to them. They need their daily fix and they’ll get it any way they can. They’re happy to break the law to get their fix. You could see the officers pupils dilate when you agreed (under duress) to finally give your private. You definitely need to take legal action against these two criminals.

There is absolutely no point in doing any of this unless you follow through. Complaints and law suits filed. Even after you gave them your identification the harassment continued. These clowns can abuse the rights of citizens without any fear if you do nothing.

I'm from northern ireland myself mate, love how you handled this (earned a sub). Although i do have a question - When i did a little research, apparently the PSNI can actually request your name (not sure about the searching for no reason) would love more clarification. What i found: "In Northern Ireland a person has an obligation to give their name and address and DOB under certain circumstance, together with the answers to some questions, under section 21 of the Justice and Security Act"

Don't forget folks, this is Norn Irn. More authoritarian legislation applies here compared to the rest of the UK, Police and military can demand ID details and non-compliance is grounds for arrest, unlike the rest of the UK. Auditing Police stations here will always end in tears for the auditor. Cops all carry firearms and active paramilitary groups still exist despite the ceasefires of the 1990s and the Good Friday Agreement. These unpleasant searches are in fact lawful and do not give rise to a damages claim. CJ Audits, enthusiastic as he is has been watching AB, NNY etc and assumes the same laws apply here. Leicestershire or North Yorkshire it ain't.

Then mentioning his solicitor is awkward are they for real a real liability for being unlawful and being sued. Then did not inform of being recorded so this can't be used as being covert without permission from his inspector. They are completely unprofessional clueless clearly need retraining and repremanding. This is so bad that a civil claim is a must and both these need to be reported to professional standards.
