We can’t denied Taylor and Nicholas’s great chemistry and I have no idea how many times I’ve watched it and I can’t move on to another movie for sure!!

It's a comfort movie for me now so I've watched it a bunch lol Naturally there are things from the book I wsh they kept in (like when Alex says "then fkn have me!) but I think they did a really good job adapting for the screen. Nick and Taylor's chemistry is sooooo good. I would actually love to see them work together again. I like how tastefully the love scene was shot. It's obvious they tried to be accurate but also communicated a lot of tenderness. All the non-verbal shots throught the movie managed to communicate things very well actually so good on them for that. Nick's command of his facial expressions were chef's kiss and Taylor's delivery of Alex's speeches were so well done. I think both actors did wonderfully at capturing the essence of each character.

9:18 everything about this honestly, from playing with the ring, to the little sigh and head tilt and the end.... So good. I agree with you about the initimacy this whole movie has, my fave scene is definitely the one on the lake (before everything goes to hell lol), just how domestic they were🥺

As a non romantic straight guy this movie was enjoyable i can't really say anything bad. My only problem is it was too short honestly hell it could've been a series. But that's my personal opinion. It was nice and funny and romantic and I was rooting for the boys the whole time.

100% agree about Henry's grief. His father's death was like this nuclear bomb that destroyed his and his family's life, I wish a bit more of that had gotten in, it gives Henry so much depth. And his writing is also phenomenal.

this was so funny lmaooo. I had a not so enjoyable time watching the first time because I'm extremely attached to the book and I was upset with how much was cut, but now I've had time to get used to it and I can appreciate it : )) They did a good job adapting with it the time they had but fuck Amazon for making them cut it from 3 hours to 2 hours : (( Alex and Henry mean so much to me and Taylor and Nick did such a great job bringing them to life

There were so many little things about the characters that weren’t in the movie, but nevertheless I felt like it was a great adaptation and I didn’t like the way everybody was trashing on it when it was announced and saying that the actors had zero chemistry and all 😭😭😭

Girl I hate to be one of those people but you gotta give us the reaction videos for the rest of TSITP season 2. I am dying to see your reaction to the shit show that went down.

I was disappointed with Uma’s role just because her only real purpose is to be Madame President, and all other aspects of it can be divided between the dad, Nora, and Zahra. As opposed to Nora and Zara’s roles, which add so much to the film and kind of combine several book characters, like Alex’s sister. I don’t know where they’d fit in Bea’s speech to Alex about Henry’s grief within this movie’s plot, but I wish that they reworked at least a sentence or two of it, maybe in a conversation between Bea and Henry when he ghosts Alex and talks with his sister about his love not mattering? Maybe Bea could have mentioned grief as an insight for the audience to understand character motivation more? Or! When Nora talks to Alex about some of the details about Henry’s behavior that she heard from his mate Percy. A line or two about grief there would fit, and provide both audience and Alex with character insight for Henry. I kind of assumed that the film’s Alex is so accepting of the film’s Henry’s hot/cold behaviors because they’ve been texting August to NYE as flirty friends, so they had time to learn about each other. Henry is aware of his attraction to Alex, but Alex is both generally more free and open as a person but also has his guard down because he’s kind of clueless about the trajectory of his own feelings until the kiss. Henry kind of sneaks into his heart. By the time he and Alex engage in oral sex in his bedroom after the State Dinner, even though both boys claim it’s casual (peak clownery!!!), Alex pretty much puts his heart out there with his vulnerability. And, like you’ve noticed, zero hesitation about seeing Henry despite international PR nightmare. I thought this was a solid romcom and it’s so refreshing to see gay joy represented in a healthy relationship instead of most movies where gay stories are all about continuous struggle. In terms of book adaptation, the casting was fantastic. They got the spirit of each character.
