This Yamaha MOTO 4 has been a pain and a joy to work on with my son. But all good things come to an end and you have to know when to walk away from putting to much money into a project.

You have inspired me by your efforts which certainly turned out well. Brought home a 1985 Moto 4 in running condition that I intend to overhaul as you did. Will be starting on it this weekend and posting videos of my efforts in case you and your viewers would like to watch and laugh at my work. I'll probably be asking your for some advice as I go along. Right now, I'd like to know what brand and sizes of replacement tires you installed? I'm wondering if my 200 cc bike could possibly have enough power to run a slightly taller set of tires to get a little more ground clearance. Not sure about clearance if I went too much taller. Your thoughts appreciated.

Started today on doing basic stuff. I'm already up against the work of a complete idiot who rounded off the head of the oil drain plug with some sort of impact wrench or air tool ratchet. Just going to leave it in place for the moment until I get a new plug in hand and pump out the old oil. Any advice on the best way to get the oil plug out? The foam air filter was completely deteriorated and fell apart in my hands. Hasn't been replaced in many years obviously. The oil filter was in better shape but way overdue for replacement too. But I haven't seen any metal in the oil yet however I don't have much of it drained out and without getting the drain plug out I can't check the condition of the oil screen. Ordered the two new filters and a replacement drain plug. Going to see what's in the gas tank and lines tomorrow and how the spark plug looks. That should be interesting. Your video convinced me to order a rebuild kit for the Mikuni carb and just work with the carb that's on the machine. Where did you find a Mikuni carb kit, if you remember?
@bbay19774 жыл бұрын
Great videos. Did you have any problems out of it because of the metal shavings? Keep up the great work and this was well worth my sub to your channel. Thanks again.

I just picked up a 1988 Moto 4 Barn Find found parts and Service manual. The Moto 4 is in incredible condition but it doesn't run yet. The carb was a mess so now it is as clean as new. I was able to get the gas tank out without remove the front plastic. I can figure out how to get that off. All you tube videos an the factory service manual are silent on that procedure. Anybody!! please provide input! Thanks and looking forward to that. I trying to get the unit back to a like new condition for my grandson. Gotta get that front plastic out of my way
