The Yamaha Outboard is purring like a kitten and the ocean looks amazing so it is a great time for some sea trials with the bangka pump boat here on the Sulu Sea in the Guimaras - Iloilo Strait. We start at sunrise and end at sunset. So enjoyable Even though not a planing hull the boat really lifted up and kinda of planed out with most of the hull out of the water She was like a little bullet for a boat like that.
We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Iloilo City on Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. We hope you enjoy and join to be part of a bigger family here on this channel.
Thank you for being apart of our channel and lives.

Amazing James what a nice way to start the day 3 loves of your life …. Water / Boats / and your beautiful Asawa 😍👍🛥🙏 when i ran my charter boat out of Boracay back in ‘94 i had a “ Green “ spotlight ( Masthead Light ) on the beach so i could find my way home especially low light and evening time.. she sits nice on the water and you didn’t get wet this time 😂

We ran big pump boats here before anyone knew us on the vlog here. When you get out a ways all the coast line looks the same. It is amazing how these guys know in the darkness right where to come into to. Funny you said that because I put a super bright led light out at the beach already facing the water. Side story- there was a long time pilot out by us in Texas. He had a private plane and runway at his house. He flew there for decades. When flying in he would always radio his wife to go turn the runway lights on. She would and then he would land. He got close to home from a long flight with his little Cessna plane and began trying to reach his wife. No answer, he tried and tried but no answer. It was pitch black countryside with big oak tree forest all around. He then stated trying her cell phone too, no answer. He call neighbors, no answer. Finally because of low fuel he decided to just go for it since there was most likely not enough fuel to make it elsewhere. He thought he knew his strip well. Sad part is he crashed and met his demise. She was there sleeping and woke to the sound of the crash. The moral of this story is dont rely on a light for guidance that can be switched off especially with a wife who complains it is wasting power and forgetting why it might be on. (MEL). I am trying to memorize the landmark lights like cellphone towers same as the locals do for backup.

Yeh i see your Bright LED light .. i hear what you say about memorising the land marks when we sailed from Manila to Boracay we went across the ‘Verde’ Straight from Marikaban island to Puerto Galera and as you probably know thats very deep water . We got smashed by a Typhoon and i spent 12hrs in what can only be called ‘Hell’ i had my Filipina wife tied down next to me on the helm (not literally 😅) my boat was a 75 ft Ketch and the prop was popping out of the water as we topped the 20-30ft waves . It was a horrendously black night and the only thing I remembered was the outlines of the ‘Halcon Mountain were darker than the sky that i think saved us .. the fact that I remembered that as a Landmark !!! I’m looking at a place near Matabungkay Beach were i will like to do a Banka/Outboard 😉👍 although i think if the wife finds out she will probably turn the beach light off lol …all the best James 😁👍

@@TexasFilipino we will meet up James as soon as I’ve sold my house here in the U.K me and Juna will be over we have been looking for land in Nasugbu I emailed you a while ago . I have lots of stories.. the time i was asked to take a load of Gold out of the Philippines on my boat … the time i was hiding in a chicken barn with the Philippine Army when the rebels were just over the mountains next to us. The Army Chaplain saved my ass lol .. i got photo somewhere me holding a chicken and an AK47 😜🐓.. i took a 17ft dory with an old Seagull outboard across Taal Lake when a storm hit the only thing that kept the engine going was me spraying WD40 through the carb 😂 lots more but cannot talk about on here … lets say that taking the boat (70ft Ketch ) passed The Philippine Presidential Palace Malacanang was more complicated than you think !? . You should watch my videos on Facebook of my old ChrisCraft 27 with twin V8’s with racing exhaust she was a flyer !! Look for me Nick Baker theres a picture of me on my Honda CBX 1000 .. see you soon bud 👍🌴🛥🛠

That looks like fun! Was surprised when you said you were going to leave the outboard on most of the time...but you know the neighborhood as well as anyone. Leaving it on and the boat in the water will definitely enable you to use it much more spontaneously. Won't be surprised if you use this boat as much if not more than you use the big boat. Sunrise and sunset are fantastic times to be on the water. Looks like you have the outriggers dialed in...I didn't see any spray kicking back at you. In fact the outriggers looked so well balance that the boat looked like it wanted to fly...you are getting some nice speed out of it...if you mounted some plywood across those outriggers the boat might actually fly...you might have yourself a hydrofoil.

Glassy water conditions, water skiers dream. I remember being on the water early in the morning, perfect glass like ice. What’s a Texan doing in a boat without a fishing pole? Are fishing licenses required there? Might want to keep some oars and life jackets in that thing for the just in case. So the Sun rises to the left of your place down the coast then sets to the right? You face North?

Your outriggers are out of the water... In the front... If you want power and speed get a bronze prop... It will grab more water and not flex like aluminum and lower your trim so it will ride straight... It's not a bass boat brother 😂😂😂... Put a 50 horse on it 😂😂😂...
