Sunroof Drain Repair: The Ultimate DIY Guide For 2012 - 2021 Range Rovers L405

1/8” NPT thread tap: amzn.to/47ktzSG

1/8” NPT male to male: amzn.to/3TJtDIp
1/8” NPT to 1/4” MIP fitting: amzn.to/3tAnZha
OPTIONAL 1/8” NPT to ½” barb fitting*: amzn.to/3vhwzSz

Thanks for doing this as I am sure there will be plenty of 405 and 494 owners going to go through the same issues. Mine look rusty but not broken yet. Have a dry New Year

Thank you for the informative video. I wonder why to remove the roof rail I have 2016 l405 with sun roof I removed the roof molding and it was unnecessary at all. Now I have a rail molding with broken taps. So just don't remove the roof trim no need for that.

Agree 100%. I was able to do this without removing that rail and used a long thin brush to add some waterproofing around the newly tapped drain hole. Not sure that was needed as I put lots of epoxy below where new NPT nipple is installed. Other than this tweet, these instructions were amazing and allowed me to fix both sides.

This is a very helpful video, thank you for posting it. I have this same issue on my 2017 L405, drivers side corroded out and passenger side looks rusty, so I need to do both but I dont understand why you need to remove the roof trim, can you explain why please?

To be able to see and epoxy around the drain.
