Sunset Lanes is a program documenting the on going restoration of my Norton Polivnick designed home and the mid-century modern community of Sunset Lanes, located in Westminster Colorado.

I like the ritual of opening the curtains every morning. Like your screen walls/ room dividers.

Im restoring a 1950 house I call the bach by the sea in New Zealand, I find your series fascinating. I varnished the repaired hardwood window surrounds yesterday, today preped the kitchen 12 point window ready for Enamel primer, we tore the cardboard lining off the bathroom tounge and groove walls today too, I am going tans and the kitchen is now sage green with hardwood cabinets, yellow wall linings, found a perfect new stove, a lot of hard work but we are getting there, love the intro, I have recorded very little, I restored a 70s gm, recorded it all and posted nothing, the orange is great

Houses have always interested me ... especially really old homes - I enjoy art as well and most all of my original artwork has a house in it ... 😊

Wow, Joshua. Great video. Great, appropriate music. Great T-Bird (always one of my favorites). You definately have nailed the Mad Men vibe ( (I grew up back then, and my dad worked in a big ad agency, so I know that vibe well). You even carry yourself like someone who was an adult when those houses were built. When I was a kid, the house was always filled with the sensuous aroms of wood, paint, and turpentine.

Suggestion.... Might want to paint the trim before you attach it ;). Really enjoy your channel

Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you're enjoying the channel!! As for prepainting....I don't prepaint or stain.... For me, trim or any joined surface always needs sanded together for a good fit, along with nail putty etc. Sanding a latex painted finish for me usually creates a line under the top coat.

It just happened by chance...I knew of him, but didn't know where his house had been until I bought this house. Very interesting coincidence....

I think your screen door would look even better with a solid panel on the bottom, matching the wall and glass next to it.

It's a screen door and designed for airflow that a solid panel would restrict.

@@eattherich9215 the upper portion would flow more than enough air, and if the owner plans to stay period correct, he's going to have a swamp cooler pushing hot air out the door, and blocking the lower part with retain more cool air in the house.

The owner has decided to have mesh in both parts of the screen, so your point is moot.
