I've seen some of these old interviews with Debbie where the talkhost has been so full of themselves, condescending, sexist, rude. Here Terry gives this amazing artist more respect than many others did, although he is a bit stilted and some of the questions are really poor. Some of the humour doesn't translate well at all. However we see her sweet nature so clearly. Shame he is gone, his adlibbing on the radio and at Eurovision were comedic gold even if he wasn't the greatest at talk shows. Thankfully Debbie has had good health and can still captivate those of us who remember her from the late 1970s. I still think she is the most beautiful American woman I've ever seen. Her inner beauty, slight shyness and self depreciation are so endearing.

He probably assumed like alot of people that Blondie was at least a decade younger than those guys, but by 1978 when she hit the big time she was already 32 yrs old. She was only 3 yrs younger than Mccartney, she was one of a very small group of musicians who hit the bigtime later in life.

I'm not sure what 'bad press' Wogan is referring to here, neither is Debbie. Maybe he should have been clearer if there was something he specifically wanted to ask. It's not a very good interview. At that time I think Wogan was doing three shows a week, every week of the year, and clearly he didn't do a lot of research for this one.
