Legendary hard rock vocalist Joe Lynn Turner (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) recently traveled to Vikos Gorge in northern Greece to film a video for the song "Edge Of Tomorrow" from his SUNSTORM project with director Menelaos Sykovelis.
Regarding why he chose Vikos Gorge as the location for his new video, Joe told Epirus Gate (see clip below): "'Edge Of Tomorrow' is basically a lyric about the apocalypse that's happening right now and the geopolitical situation in our world. So I came to Greece, and I came to Vikos canyon, the deepest and longest canyon in the world, the canyon of the Gods. This is where all of civilization started. With the golden eagle that Zeus would use and have on his hand, he flies with us. He represents the freedom that people should have instead of the enslavement which the world has become from the geopolitical powers."
He continued: "When I spoke to the producer and director, Menelaos, who, actually, his name comes from the king of Sparta… He's a visionary and an incredible artist, and he knew that this particular location was where we should do this, where we should show the world what is happening in symbology, in symbolic form.
"So watch this video, set yourself free and know that Vikos canyon, the canyon of the Gods, is here for you. See the spectacular, most amazing place on Earth."

I always thought he was a great singer, but he was better at singing ballads than hard-rock or heavy music. Somehow he sweetened the songs too much for my taste. But here he sounds kind of different. Probably I was wrong or he got better. Either way, he's a great singer

I got the privilege to see JLT a few years back in Dallas. In fact, the band I was in opened for him. Steve Brown used my amp. Amazing show. I met JLT backstage and he was so genuine and humble. One of the greatest singers in our lifetime.

Joe if you're reading this, I apologize for getting suckered into what music the media said was great. They were wrong, you're the best in rock n roll. Whoever uploaded this video you rock! Was awesome to see it as I have become a great fan of Joe and look forward to hearing everything and hopefully one day see him in concert as well know would be worth every penny as I haven't heard one song from him I didn't like yet! If you sung together with Rainbow and Deep Purple and Yngwie Malmsteen etc I don't think "underrated" is the correct word here. Underrated is the typical KZfaq lingo of 200 % fans who will not rest before every baby in its pram and every granddaddy in his rocking chair by the fire knows, admires, loves, praises etc etc their demi-god. If they were rulers, it would be a capital crime to make fun of JLT, not being able to name all his bands all his CD's etc would become an insult to his or her majesty, and not being able to play Street of dreams on at least 7 different instruments enough to be send away for the next 20 years to Devil's Island. Halleluljah praise JLT and pass the ammunition...

@@manuelalvarez25 Not at all. If you visit Ioannina in Greece, it is about 40k from there. Place called Zagori is remarkable. This part of Greece if you are a mountain climber has lots of places/mountains to visit. Being a trail runner myself I've seen them all many times. All you need is time and you won't regret it. I will be more than happy to provide you with more info.....somehow.

this is the biggest canyon in all Europe...just great! the second one is Portile de Fier canyon in Romania, on the high corridor of the Danube, another incredible work of art made by Nature itself!

ive known Joe since high school. ive followed his career since then. everything Joe sings is REMARKABLE! There isnt anyone in his league that still has chops like joe. Go down the list of GREAT singers then and see if they are hitting those notes and screams without help. Joe Lynn Turner is the real deal. He's only getting greater.

Amazing that Joe can still belt it out that good after all these years! You have to hand it to him, he has a work ethic and a body of work that few folks in the industry can lay claim too. From Fandango, to Rainbow, to Purple, to HTP, and all the guest spots with numerous artist, not to mention doing jingles, producing, charity work, you have to take your hat off to the guy. Would I like to see him and Blackmore get together for one more ride with Rainbow? Heck yeah. Would I like to see him and Glenn Hughes pursue more HTP work? I say a big Yowza! Joe, I wish ya many more years of doing what ya love!! And thanks for sharing that love with all of us!
