Ordered beastman 👹 He was my first for my 10th birthday present. Him and me go back,I remember a female carer who must of been my key worker while I was back then in a children's home. Seeing the colours of him and the bright red and blue card,that excitement we all had. 46 now and like you collect all manner of toys jumping constantly back and forth for that childhood feeling. Right now its motu motu motu. Great review 👍🏻

These are impressive- a whole new generation of MOTU kids - except for the price point- these are not made for the little kids but for us big kids

Ok I can't speak for Super 7 but I do remember there being a thick black rubber corded band in the legs which made the legs move around I only know that because I actually pulled really hard on the legs hard enough that I could see it when I was kid. Thats why they never broke in the 80's. I hope the second wave will be better than the first wave you mentioned. I'm now worried I bought my 4 year old 6 of them for Christmas.

Little tiny bit of WD-40 will loosen the legs up. Then just wipe off the excess spray. It worked for one of my figures from the first wave with no issues.

I enjoyed your review and appreciate the honesty about the figures, especially in regard to Super7 design choices. As you mentioned, these are expensive, so it's nice to have a review that highlights what works well and what doesn't, as a heads-up before a purchaser decides to buy. As for myself, I've bought a few of these and have mixed feelings about them. Overall, I like the nostalgia these give us. Despite some nitpicks, these figures capture the Filmation designs well. With He-Man for example, I think his face sculpt is spot on, but wish that he had a smooth belt without the rivets and a holster/sheath on his back for the sword. Those two things would help bring him closer to a more accurate Filmation aesthetic. The packaging definitely has the general spirit of the originals, but I'm in agreement that the art used for these card backs isn't as painterly as that from the original line. Also, it seems odd that figures like Hordak and She-Ra don't have faction logos (Horde and POP) on their card fronts. It just seems like a design oversight. The original line featured faction logos for Horde and Snakemen figures, which are lacking here. I haven't opened my figures yet, but after watching the review, I don't think I'll try to fit the weapons into place. The plastic appears too brittle. She's not featured in this particular review, but She-Ra is one that I'm particularly torn on. Had she been incorporated into the MOTU line back in the day, I don't think Mattel would've used the Teela sculpt again as the base. The Sorceress came out toward the end of the original line and used a different sculpt. She-Ra likely would've been released during the height of the line's popularity/ at the midpoint, so coupling that with the fact that she's He-Man's sister and leading a whole new faction, I think Mattel would've gone the extra mile with her, just like with He-Ro, Hordak, and King Hiss. Lastly, the art cards are a nice touch, and gives us something to display alongside the figure should we so choose. I wish that we could tell more easily which artist did which cards, as I don't care for Eamon's work, and would rather not purchase figures which contain his art. On a side note, after checking my figures, Skeletor's art card seems to be rendered by Emiliano. Maybe some of the cards have the name cropped off, depending on how they were trimmed during production. Well, sorry for the long response- my apologies! I dont know if you noticed but what aggravates me is that SUPER7 is known for making the toy exactly like the cartoon but they FAILED to give HEMAN his holster for his sword on the back..... So apparently they messed up on that. i also noticed on the BIGBADTOYSTORE that the prince ADAM by SUPER7 has a bad paint imperfection above his right eye. I really hope MATTEL does in fact take over this and start to release the original figures again.

My Teela is still a Warrior Goddess like in the comic book...and I have a Teela without armour thats the clone

Too bad they are using that shiny plastic. I use 1000 grift sand paper and it make the figure less shiny. I learn that trick on one of the motu forums. I don't know if is just me but that Teela head sculpt looks more better than the 7 inch Filmation Teela.

Loved your review. You have a new subscriber. My He-Man super7 shield just broke. I am gentle with my figures and it broke right out of the package. He-man cant even stand right. I will not open anymore super7 MOTU.... Super7 is a very weak toy company, very sad.
