You really should have put Matt's head on the girl's body. You know that's his aesthetic.

I thought something serious or bad was going on in the beginning when Matt was talking. He sounded kinda sad.

about the history of japanese reality tv, there was a show in the 80s named ai nori or love wagon basically, which is a terrace house type show but with traveling, its very typical of japanese reality shows moving forward to make a regular type show but with bunch of soap opera elements shoved into it. So ainori ended early 2000s the viewership was very high for a very long time but plumeted around 2000s. The same studio started terrace house back in 2011 with the same feeling in my mind, minus the traveling part, as terrace house started gainning attention they went back and restarted ainori in 2017, which is now viewed as a terrace house spin off, the irony. So to answer your question no, japanese reality shows arent like that, its just a small niche pocket of the industry but it had a tiny impact in the rest of the reality shows. What changed though is the panelist part of the show, the original ainori had no panel, it had a narrator like a documentary.

Any time people talk about this I thought it was called Taras House because I thought Taras was some Japanese word and that is the only way I hear people pronounce it. You wouldn’t call the neighborhood the Simpsons live in Evergreen TURASS

It's almost like these guys don't know how to pronounce 'Terrace'. I don't even think they know what a terrace is.
