Super Dirty Shingle Roof Wash And More

I used a 6% mix of sh and water to get it all cleaned and 2nd we had a pool cage/pool deck combo and driveway cleaning. Hope you guys are enjoying the content. That first house roof was dirty and it came out great. Not till started watching you did I realize the soft wash approach to cleaning roofs. I made the mistake of using a small pressure washer on my roof and probably took years off the life of it. My bad. Great video. From the Pacific Northwest 👋

@CSmith-oz4wp if it's not that dirty and you have the means to shoot the solution up there. I'd say a in 4 gallon sprayer mix 2.5 gallons of water and 1 5 gallons of chlorinated liquid will clean it up nice. If it's really bad then 2 gallons of water 2 gallons of chlorinated liquid. As long as you're not surrounded by a bunch of tree cover the roof should stay clean for at least 3-5 years.

Thanks for the new vid! Have you done any work to try to get more GPM flow out of the pre-treat/post-treat system? Just something I noticed on the driveway @ 28:00, where it seemed the reason you couldn't move faster was because of how long it takes for you to get your desired amount of pre-treat on the surface. Idk your system. Maybe you have it where you like it to balance not-over-applying & speed of application.

Nah I just didn't have the hose all the way off the reel which restricts it a little bit. It's only a 12v pump and I'm using 1/2 inch hose so there's some restriction there as it is. If you noticed on the roof job it sprayed much better.

@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash ahh makes sense with the "gotta unwind the hose all the way" thing. I see what you're saying about the roof now. Think you'll upgrade to a higher flow pump at some point or is it a headache to go above 12v or something? Not trying to criticize your process I'm just interested!

@MarkTrades__ nah this is the most easiest system to use. Easiest to fix, cheapest to fix and gets the jobs done. I sprayed that whole roof in less than 40 mins. It's a 7gpm 12v pump which is the staple. Also doesn't cause a ton of overspray.

@@PinkFlamingoPowerWash makes sense! Alot of reasons not to try to push the flow on that part of the system. Easy to repair & ensure uptime is a huge reason not to mess with something less proven just to gain 5-10% speed of application. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

Do you just spray around furniture and pots on a patio, or do you move everything? Also, I assume some of the fabrics you encounter may be susceptible to bleach stains? Just wondering how you navigate this. Thanks.

I dont move their stuff. Its in my terms and conditions. They can move it or I just clean around it. Also pretty much any pool furniture will be resistant to sh because ppl get in the pool and then go sit on them lol. Usually all that stuff is made out of polyester which is very resistant. Its the same material my shirts are made out of.

Definitely do a 5 around on that first neighborhood alot of dirty roofs around. I only do shingle roofs now, I dont offer metal roof cleaning service anymore. All the jobs came out great

No granule lost cause it's not pressure washing. It's equivalent to a light rain on the roof when you do soft washing

@tomalley798 that's rust stains from the sprinkler system. I asked to make sure you aren't asking about water spots on windows. Oxalic acid or rust aid works Foe the rust stains. Or you can purchase other stuff like f9 barc

I have done a few roof jobs, but not that many because customers are getting less expensive quotes. I quote a minimum.20 cents per sqft and still miss out on 50% of the opportunities. I don’t understand how guys want to get on roofs and risk their life for chump change. Tampa/Sarasota market is too many low ballers.

50% Isnt that bad especially if you are getting them at the price that you are comfortable with in my honest opinion. Youre getting half the work with good pay vs someone that is doing most of the work with less pay.

It'll be fine. Just rinse it off. That percentage isn't going to ruin a grill on impact.
