You have been such an inspiration to me!!! I've been crocheting for about 30 years and I have tried to learn knitting, but failed and gave up twice already. I got a wild hair today and bought knitting needles. Again. The difference this time? I have you. I watched your video for this and the double sided stockinette and while I struggled with the stockinette I am actually getting this shawl!!!!!!! Thank you for being you and for being here for all of us. I recommend you to EVERYONE whether they mention wanting to learn to crochet or want new and interesting patterns. Tons of love from your biggest spiderette fan!

This is FANTASTIC...I have trouble with the markers so this pattern is perfect for me right now. I'm going to jazz them up with beautiful ruffles, beads, tassels, etc. The beautiful yarn colors will make it exciting and the decorations will make them truly unique!! Maybe with more experience I will be able to use the patterns with markers. Thank you for your peaceful voice, patience and great teaching skills...you're the best!!

I'm making this shawl, but instead of using kfb for the increase, I'm doing a YO after the second stitch. I like the border it makes. I'm using Sweet Rolls yarn instead of Caron Cakes. . I only have two balls so hoping that's enough. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!

Hi, thank you for the gentle voice and not over talking a project to death! Question: regarding a triangular (I had made a scarf with knit only as per this tutorial and I love it) but in checking out other styles, I would like a shawl with a center peep hole. It seems the only way to do this is to cast on three, for six rows, then pick up stitches totaling nine (see Marly Bird) a very awkward annoying and more complicated procedure. Crochet allows for such an easier way to make a peep hole uncomplicated triangular shawl. Any idea?

Combining this with your scarf tutorial, you knit to desired length then start the decrease stage. It is like the decrease stage is in two parts, the first, with an inc on one end and dec on the other, knit ws rows. At what point would you start the decrease triangle? A certain number of rows in or by intuition? I have searched high and low for a way to make a rectangular bias blanket. This I am sure is the answer if I can get the details down. You are really great at this and I really appreciate the effort.

Life itself can often be a whirlwind of stress, so I find solace in my simple pleasures and love being able to share them. 😊 The irony is that I started this channel because I really don't like the sound of my voice, lol. Initially I was going to be silent and use subtitles, and finally bit the bullet and decided otherwise. Also forced myself out of my comfort zone and started creating audiobook playlists as well. I find it's not enough to be creative, but to push ourselves a bit each day so that we may grow, and with this channel I like to think we can grow together as a creative community. 😊 Thank you!

Thanks for your valuable tips about the width of the shawl. .Of course , that gadget is not available here . I am a beginner I would like you to clear a doubt of mine which I did pose to another pod caster but I failed to get an answer. Sometime as one progresses in the shawl., one runs out of yarn mid way . I always start on my new yarn at the beginning of a row.I usually waste a lot of yarn every time this happens. Can one start a new yarn midway ? Usually that is not advised. Thanks

Just a quick question if you don't mind this starts at the bottom point correct? I'm a beginner knitter ( been crocheting since age 5) I just started this and then realized it has three points but figured that we start at the bottom then the rest just falls in place as we knit along. Also can I double the yarn without affecting the drape for a warmer shawl?? Ty so much for your wonderful tuotorials. I enjoy these so much! I can't wait to learn socks. That's been the whole reason I learned knitting lol beanies and socks. 💜
@FiberSpider5 жыл бұрын
No problem, yup you begin at the bottom point and increase it to the point where you want the top width to be. Also you can double your yarn, but will need to use bigger needles to maintain the drape.

I'm sorry, but I really can't give you an exact number. You're best bet would be to count how many stitches are in an inch, then figure how many inches long you want it to be, and multiply the two together. Everyone's gauge is different so that's why I can't be more specific. I hope that helps 😊

Help. I've started with straight needles since I've never used circular and switched to circular; however, it looks like a witch hat. It is not laying flat. I wish I could show a picture. I finally cut each end and tied it off, but I know if I start again, it will become a triangular hat.

I prefer thinking of it as 'mindfull' instead. Intricate patterns are great for a challenging beauty. However, for a project of simplicty where you can let your mind wander while your hands fly throuugh the yarn - those always fit the bill for me ☺
