I have a history of being horrible at finishing projects because i think i’m not advanced enough to complete them. You’ve made me realize i just needed the right teacher, i’m getting further in my projects than i ever thought i would and truly enjoy crocheting fully again, i almost gave up on it altogether, but you’ve helped me understand so much more! 💕

A fantastic pattern! I've made 3 different pairs already :)Hands down the BEST sock pattern I have found on KZfaq! Also works great with a Worsted weight yarn and a 5mm hook. I started with a Ch 6 and 3 INC rows for a US 8/8.5 shoe size.

@brunaticality I want to say thank you. I've been crocheting for over 30 years and this is the easiest sock pattern ever and it fits so perfectly. The way you demonstrated each important stitch and fitting is why this sock is so easy to make. anyone can do this. There is no stress in making these. You did an amazing job and now I can make sock that fit and for everyone in my family. Also thanks for modeling them, and the close up shots for stitches. It can be overwhelming when you aren't sure how things are finished or decreases and you did great. I'd rather have every minute to watch close up and fast forward if I need to, than to not have that info. Thank you for giving us such great details and beautiful pattern. ❤️

Ok after messing up 3 times here’s what helped me…. Count the total amount of stitches after the increases and count every row to make sure you have that same number each time…. Also helps to mark your last stitch each row… back to basics

Anyone interested in a size 39 EU: it was 22 rows after the increases for me to reach the heel part. (Total 26 rows to reach the heel.) For the heel part I needed 10 rows. For the decreases part: 4 rounds of decreases then an additional 5th round without any decrease: 41 stitches at the end. For the ribbing part: go as long as you feel like :)

Thank you Brunaticality for this lovely socks'pattern 🥰 However, I also met a huge problem with having a seam not straight and a sock going narrower. I saw that many persons had this problem too. So here is my solution to have a straight and invisible seam with keeping a sock with the same width all along AND with NO holes (Don't forget to well tight your thread at the last HDC + slip stitch): Do everything same except when you make the row with the 2 chains, make your first HDC directly into the first V...Here it is 😄😁😏👏👏👏🎉

I’ve wanted a simple toe-up crochet sock. I started a pair well before Christmas and hadn’t saved the video. When I checked out easy crochet toe-up socks, your name sounded familiar, and here is the video!!! I have one started and am starting the second one. One from the outside of the yarn and one from the inside of the yarn. I think you worked on the Harry Styles sweater, also. Your name comes readily up for “easy” creations, for me! Thanks for being here.❤

I'm making these socks right now, but the body is getting narrower instead of staying the same width - I seem to be losing a stitch with every row I complete, even though I'm following the instructions exactly! Any advice? EDIT: Just worked out how to make the sock body straight and stop narrowing: the ch 1 row with the trick stitch at the end is fine, the dec is happening in the ch 2 row. To remedy this, instead of slip-stitching into the first hdc of the row to close the round, slip-stitch into the 2nd ch of the ch 2. Hope that helps anyone who's stuck on the same part! :)

Hey, Thanks for this Tutorial! I only got a tiny feedback on the turning points of the rounds of the toe part I'm what I'd call an advanced beginner so I got the first rounded edge right but at the second part I wasn't sure if I picked the right stitch to put the increases in I slowed it to 0.5 and zoomed in real good and it works but I'd appreciate a little slower pointing out of the important placements Like as we know there are multiple ways to for example fill in another stitch to avoid holes in the result , ut I've found every crocheter has their own ways Anyways these were my twos cents (with much love) this is a great video and I'm very glad you put it together, Thank you so much and many blessings 😊

@@brunaticality You did great!! . I am a knitter and have been working on socks for several years. I know socks construction well. As a crocheter as well, I know how difficult heels are. The afterthought and the shortrow heels in crocheting are very difficult, so shaping the heels the way you did is the best alternative especially for sock beginners. The way you explained the sizing was perfect too. Feet are probably the most difficult part of the body to fit and your method worked out great. It takes patience and practice and people need to be reminded to keep trying and remember how hardit is to make a pattern and then show a tutorial. Well done!!!

I normally don’t comment on people’s videos, but I’m sorry these comments are a little too imaginative. For an ACTUAL beginner this pattern is certainly not super easy once you get 26:00 minutes in and you’re trying to keep her 18 count even though we’re skipping the first stitch. I’ve redone it 3 times and I either can’t keep 18sts or I just can’t get into that first chain like she says. I’ve done your other sock pattern that’s no sew and that on should be retitled as super easy because that one was FUN to make and I got to complete it. This pattern sadly made me extremely frustrated for 3 days now and I honestly just trashed the project. I don’t want this to seem like a negative comment, I just wanted to say that this pattern definitely is not “super easy” for beginners / beginner friendly.

Much easier but the finished sock here is much closer to knitted than anything else. Perfect socks are knitted because you have a detailed heel turn in knitting which you cannot create with crochet. This pattern is by far the closest to a perfect sock. This pattern is not complicated. It is just perfected. Have fun creating socks!

I've done the toe-part, but it's already looking way too broad. I don't understand the trick part with the toes because by skipping 1-2 chains in the beginning of each row, it makes me create these gaping holes in the pattern. Also, are the increases x3 supposed to surround the stitchmarkers at the side? So that you'd have a total of 6 inc on each row? Someone please help me out here.
@applejuice1838
@applejuice1838 3 жыл бұрын
we're just supposed to skip the stitch which is right next to our chain of 1-2. for me the gaps look normal after I slip stitch at the end of the rows. and yes 3 stitches at the corners so it makes a total of 4 increases per row (I think) because two would already be there.
@Sarisfaction84
@Sarisfaction84 3 жыл бұрын
I also end up with big holes by doing the trick thing :( I don't understand why not just put a stitch marker in the forst stitch every round and make rows without even making slip stitches, as that usually creates a seamless border.

Smare here. I've restarted twice. Slowed down the video to 0.25 and watched it over and over again. It's frustrating to see the seam go at an angle again and the sock getting more narrow as well. Something just doesn't add up. If you keep slipstitching to the part after the 1/2 chain and then skip a stitch again ... How does that give you a straight seam?! I need to start again now but it's not fun if I can't figure out what to do.
@goudvisbloem

I gave up, all I want is to make some socks that keep my feet warm :) I skipped a slipstitch at the toe and spiralled up from there with no seam. From there it was really easy to continue to the heel as well. Thank you for this tutorial!

I’m enjoying your instructions and learning a lot, but I find the background music extremely disturbing.

Hi! I just wanted to ask if the yarn you are using thin? It's because its the only available type of yarn that I have and I wanted to make a sock for my grandma

So once you finish the toe, and you're doing rounds, is the only different between your alternating rows the fact you start rows with either one chain or two?? You don't make it clear that you're alternating so probably a lot of people are forgetting

O.m.g. I love this pattern 😍 but I'm uncertain why, when I get past the toes, the sock no longer stretches...the foot area seems to have decreased since the spacious toe portion, to the point where my bf is unable to pull it on further than his toes. I don't know where the mistake lies...

Thank you! 😍 Not sure why, mine worked fine, what type of yarn are you using? Does it have some stretch to it? Otherwise you can try adding some increases right after the toes so it's a little bigger, also you tension might be tighter than mine, you could also try size up your hook, let me know how it goes.

@@brunaticality 100% acrylic; a bit of stretch to it. Okay, I'll try loosening my grip. Would it have anything to do with my following along with your video though beginning with more chains, since it's for an adult male?
