Beautiful rig. It always amazes me how much engineering goes into these things just to cram the maximum amount of stuff onboard, every cubic inch of space is so efficiently utilized. It's a real tribute both to the people who design and build these trucks, and the firefighters that pack and use them.

Nice looking rig. Worked there for 20 years and had Seagraves the whole time. They were great to drive too.

Awesome Video John! Seagrave head quarters was 2 blocks from where I grew up and graduated HS in Clintonville Wisconsin! My grandfather retired from Seagrave as well as an uncle and know many people who work there! As always stay safe and thanks for all the awesome content !

My mom’s dad was in this firehouse as a captain in the 1990s and got promoted to battalion chief in 1997 in Battalion 27 when he was a captain he was in Engine 62 when he was a lieutenant he was in Ladder 39 when he was an experienced firefighter he was in Ladder 56 and Ladder 36 with his friend Jimmy Powers and when he was a probie he was in Engine 91. He worked a couple of tours at Engine 96 Rescue 3 and Engine 82, a year in a quarter after 9/11 he retired from the FDNY which was in January of 2003 at age 65 since I was the first grandson to ever be born which was on August 15th 2002 at 10:30PM, he was just 64 that time while my mom’s mom was just 59, when he retired he brought home Engine 79’s ex Dalmatian Missy when she retired the same day as my mom’s dad in January of 2003, she unfortunately passed away in 2007 at the age of 10 from 9/11 related illness I believe since she was down there on September 11th 2001 and was the first Dalmatian on scene at the twin towers she jumped on board Engine 79 and then the Briggs Avenue Gang went racing into Manhattan they raced down the Grand Concourse all they way to East 138th Street and then jumped on the Deegan all the way down to the West Side Highway and got to the burning twin towers found out that a commercial aircraft deliberately slammed into the north tower after finding out a second one hit the south tower they knew these crashes were intentional but then they found out that in Washington DC another commercial aircraft was hijacked and slammed into the pentagon and they later learned that this was an act of terrorism on our country my mom’s dad’s firehouse saw the towers collapse to the ground sending jet fuel to explode as they came down just like what you filmed of this thick cloud of dust and smoke as well as debris mixed in with plaster just coming from the now gone towers my mom’s father is due for a cat scan to see if he has any more health problems related to the 9/11 toxins I’m very concerned about his health as well as the rest of my family because he lost so much weight and is becoming very weak as his health is eating away at him every day he doesn’t look like the grandfather and father we all knew he’s 84 going on 85 and may not be able to make it to 100 because of how bad his health is resulting from the injuries he had when at a number of fires when he was a lieutenant in Ladder 39 before September 11th and resulting from the 9/11 related illnesses so god for bid if this was coming close to the end of time for him it may not be that easy because the FDNY NYPD and everyone in the emergency services including all of his family members will be at his wake and funeral it would just a very depressing time for us to realize that he’s not here anymore, but I have to make it last while I could while he’s still alive

One thing I dont understand is why a city with so many hi rise and skyscraper building buy trucks with such small ladders such as 75ft or only 90ft tower ladders when there are longer lentgth ladder and platform models available on the market. I know our tower ladder in our town is 105 ft. It just seems like the longer ladders would be much better with hi rise buildings, Can someone with inside knowlege of the FDNY explain the reasons?

Why does FDNY have so many ladders? Unless I am wrong it's about 1 ladder to 2 pumps, in London it's about 1 ladder to 11 pumps.
