First thing I notice as a stylist the client legs were crossed that an off balance so cut would be off balance.

Exactly. No crossing legs and hardly make movements if possible, also , no talking, the hairdresser has to concentrate, 3 first rules.

In all honesty, this is the best one I've seen her do. Usually the end result is a hot mess! Oh, and when I was doing hair, I absolutely HATED when the client would start sticking their hands in while I'm trying to style it!

Well I feel you need to learn not to bend your wrist & hand like that as you went to cut the hair at the beginning as it looks so awkward & so uncomfortable! Maybe you need to learn to hold the scissors & do the complete opposite thing with your wrist? Plus what is it with sliding your hand heavily over the hair prior to cutting - you do realise this will automatically take the hair upwards which will result in the length being slightly longer in parts of that section which will totally leave the end result uneven since you have pushed the hair up, to mould the head & neck? I would also suggest you replace the scissors to a pair that has shorter points as the longer length points are what I believe to be causing you to put your hand in positions that are obviously uncomfortable especially the way you bend your wrist downwards where by actually doing the opposite position with a different pair of scissors that are shorter you probably won’t find the need to then slide your hand over the hair prior to cutting that section? But more importantly please get rid of the nails - ask yourself do you want to be a great hairdresser or not a great hairdresser with awful long nails because you think you are all that? Slow down while cutting, always check the sections before you ever cut, always go over the entire head to double check your work, have pride in your work & never try adding short cuts to the way it should be done, as it’s definitely obvious you have learned to cut from someone who taught you bad habits as you have adapted these short cuts & bad habits as now you are adding short cuts to the already learnt short cuts as the foundation base! Absolute disaster waiting to happen as by doing this, will only ever lead to below average work & uneven hair lengths throughout. It’s always best to learn the correct foundations of hairdressing as that way you can take that foundation base & go on to develop your own techniques & flare that will make you stand out from the others & be known as a fantastic hairdresser without question!
