autotransformer is necessary so you can tap the neutral. Gives you split phase...not terribly expensive. David Poz did this with his Growatt inverters...I think because the 220V-240V units were much more common

This is not a super inverter. It uses cheap high frequency, transformerless inverter technology that offers a poorer surge capacity and a much shorter life expectancy than real inverters that use low frequency, transformer based inverter tech.
