explanation:
spy choreo is actually a lot more difficult than it looks. every move is based on a tight timescale, and there’s a lot of pauses especially in the pre-chorus. there are complicated transitions, so they’ll have to perform spy with most if not all members present for the choreo to actually work.

For the ELFs that don't know what's going on ... Hahaha!!! it's not that they hate the song its the choreography because there are so many transitions and dance steps that they can't remember it and considering they were complete members in that era. So performing it was difficult for them. Knowing SJ who forgets their own songs and dance steps even the recent ones Hahahahaha!!! It is not impossible.

Back then Heechul was in the military, so he never learned the choreo. They were 9 with Sungmin. For the others it's that thay can't remember the choreo. So overall, they hate that song because of the choreo.

Heechul actually does the leg choreo from ''spy'' but he was in the army at that time so I think that's what he remembers from watching them. We know he has the perfect memory. But of course that's variety so he messes up by putting twice choreo

The choreography is hard enough when all of the members are there, because of how intricate it is, but take away a few members and it throws them all off. So they "hate" doing it, lol.
